Like, he first shows up by randomly barging into the USJ, crashing the party. He wants to kill All Might, maybe a couple of kids for fun, he’s so cartoonishly evil from his quirk to his design to his flippant attitude. Which I guess makes sense, cuz who else are the kids gonna fight? A shoplifter? Bicycle thief?

He retreats after getting shot four times, and his attitude is still like, ‘well, shit.’ And both his babysitter and dad just… lets him bleed out on the floor while talking. 

Next we see him recruiting for his emo band, but he’s not even really trying.

Look at him. This man does not give a flying fuck. He’s only here cuz his dad made him do this.

His talk with Stain is all cheek, to the effect of “Great Senpai, teach me your evil ways. Or whatever, help me fuck shit up,” to which Stain responds by stabbing him. Shigaraki’s reaction to that? “Oof.” Afterwards, he gets revenge by sabotaging Stain’s own emo band performance. But then he’s pissed that Stain still has more likes than him, so he goes to sulk at the mall like some teenaged mall rat.

Trash goth. So overly dramatic, pausing in the middle of a walkway to pose like a lone wolf against the world. His inner monologue that’s all “The world is bleak and human nature rots with ignorance.”
