Oh ok, that makes sense. Do they provide meals? Or can you offer to make them meals? You should be able to find plenty of vegan meal making supplies in Madrid. Offer to make Spanish paella or pasta with veggies and salad. Or really whatever else you love and make well. Bread there is vegan. Baguettes are simple. No eggs. If you are out and about: You can get Pan con tomate. This is bread with tomato and olive oil) salads, olives, fries. I lived on many of those things at small cafes. Wine too. And plain espresso. I did randomly find soy milk, but it was rare. In Madrid, it will be better for you. The cards you have are brilliant. Learn the words for eggs(huevos) milk(leche), cheese (queso) meat(carne). Use google translator to translate to them and back to you if you need. I used it to type in to and then show the person what I wanted in Spanish. It worked pretty well. Learn as much Spanish as you can before you go. Duo lingo is a great app and free to helpwith this. This is just something that I noticed too when I was there. They put tuna (atún) and little pieces of pork (jamón) on salads even if you ask for vegetarian or vegan. They think they are not animal. It happened to me numerous times. Say "sin atún" "sin jamón" no tuna, no pork. I hope that helps a little. It will be a fun experience I'm sure. Have fun!
