you remember how much we hated older people for the way they treated us for being younger, for being born so much later than they were, for not understanding their pop culture references or whatever it might’ve been?

like, it’s really telling how as soon as it becomes US who are the older generation (by some regards), we assume we have the right to talk down on younger kids. it’s a developing superiority complex. seriously, i’ve seen people calling us the “elite generation” already…

yeah, i will forever remember old cartoons like ed edd n eddy, spongebob, danny phantom, flapjack, etc, and old commercials like the shirley temple little darling dvd collection, blendy pens, zoo pals, etc, but just bc someone younger than me doesn’t know what those are doesn’t make them inherently inferior.

sure, i grew up on old online games like webkinz, pixie hollow, club penguin, etc, but just because someone younger than me didn’t, doesn’t mean they’re inferior. i grew up on dumb old youtube trends and myspace and what have you, but just because someone younger than me didn’t doesn’t mean they’re inferior.

absolutely, i remember old trendy things like silly bandz, tamagotchi, heelys, flip phones, etc, but just because someone younger than me doesn’t, doesn’t make them inferior!

i know i’m being redundant, but really, some of us need to get it through our heads that we are not superior to younger generations just because we’re older. bc apparently how much we hated older generations for thinking the exact same thing has been totally forgotten.

y’all trashing on tiktok because its “cringy” and “basically vine” and refusing to give it the time of day, or claim to only like it “ironically” when people acted the same way towards vine when it was popular. both platforms were/are a space (majorly) for kids to make short videos because they want to have fun!!!! we shouldn’t think any less of tiktok when it’s just as good, if not better!

same goes for any of today’s other trends y’all tend to hate on. seriously, pay attention to why you don’t like certain things popping up in pop culture. is it because it’s genuinely in poor taste, or just because it’s something kids enjoy or made popular?

yes, some things have really…gone downhill with time. but that’s not the younger generation’s fault. it’s corporations getting lazy and making easy money. so dont blame the kids!!
