The finale of Mob Psycho rang so many freakin bells from when I played Omori. Like something about the way they hype up the protagonist being unbeatable, have you root for them to be the strongest and win every fight..
Just to have them become the final boss.
It's gotta be my favourite archetype. Because how are you meant to beat someone who was established to be unbeatable. How can you possibly stop someone you previously prayed couldn't be stopped.
And because of that, the solution has to be creative. You can't brute force your way out of it. You need something to come through to them. And that's what gets me. It's always so impactful :(
