It’s so annoying when I say I have an irrational fear or a phobia and people try to logic me out of it. I just told you that it’s irrational.

I told my family once that I don’t like taking the trash out at night because I have this irrational fear that a raccoon is gonna attack me and they started trying to talk me out of it with facts about raccoon behavior. Bitch, I know that if a raccoon heard me coming it would run off. I just said my fear is irrational.

Question: what does help you? My first instinct is that if an irrational fear is in the way an irrational/weird solution will help. Logic has no place here
