less morose & more present ✲

I’m not sure who this is, but I assume you are the same person who’s been messaging me over the years.

We all have moments in life in which we wish we had acted differently, but we can’t dwell on things that already happened. We can only learn from them by avoiding behaviors that could lead to the same outcome. We can also control how much influence and space you allow those memories to have in your mind. Sometimes, the past might look better in retrospect, but often times, they are skewed with nostalgia so don’t miss out on what’s in front of you. Life is full of opportunities and experiences that I hope can overshadow whatever regrets you dwell on. I hope you find the peace you need.

I have been with my person for 5 years now. There’s been a lot of pain in my previous relationships that I have had to do some growing from with lots of paranoia, habits, and beliefs I had to unlearn and forgive myself for. I am happy to finally be able to say that I am with someone I trust wholeheartedly. I really don’t have any regrets other than any pain I might have caused anyone from failing to be more conscious and courageous in my actions. I am thankful for what I have in front of me, and I intend to keep this blessing in my life for as long as I can.

Be good to yourself and the people you love. Enjoy the good moments in front of you, and let go of thoughts that no longer serve you.
