i’m not a great writer so i’ll just list out how i feel about brand new day with no spoilers
-ALOT of the action and stunts were straight ripped off the Insomniac Spider-man games and i saw in interviews how proud of this tom holland and the director were…you have a stunt coordinator/choreographer and you couldn’t come up with your own original stunts?
-you can tell they actively tried to be more grounded this time round and it works very well. all the emotional scenes are good and better written than the previous 3 films
-so glad they dropped almost all the iron man stuff unfortunately E.V. the ai assistant that was gifted to peter remains…i understand the narrative role it played i could’ve done without it respectfully
-loser by tame impala needle drop was good didn’t care much for the rest of the soundtrack and the score was boring 😒
-all the acting done by extras and guest actors were very good and a particular actor was actually quite a standout (if you’ve seen the film you know)
-i could appreciate Michelle Jones as this adaptation’s MJ is she was a more fully fleshed character…zendaya doesn’t really have a whole lot to work with (script wise and screen time wise) and she’s one of the examples of having the fix the writing mistakes of the last 3 films
-lots of pro mass surveillance in this movie…first time 👁️👁️….the second AROO?
-we went from iron man jr to palantir parker
-SPOILERS….the storyline of how mutants (ie anybody born different) are treated by society as a whole and by governments was good i can’t lie…surface level but nice
-again this film was really just a set up for xmen reboot and that really pissed me off
-all the mystery around the villain is very silly and no shade nobody in my theatre was gagged lmaoo
-casting for the mystery villain was nice i quite enjoyed it
-would’ve like more Ned and MJ
-one too many mcu cameos and again the continuity of the mcu was a BIG sore point for me….
-it was a decent movie it just wasn’t a very good spider-man movie and idk how anyone with sense would rank it higher than the raimi films or spider-verse films BUT it is much better than the first 3 films i’ll give it that
-omg…SO much product placement. Samsung phones and Asus ROG gaming laptops
