It’s waking up and the first thing on your mind is your body, dreading getting dressed because you already know you’ll hate everything you put on. It’s cancelling plans because the thought of people seeing your body feels unbearable. It’s doing everything people tell you will make you happier - losing weight, going to the gym, eating better - and still feeling trapped inside a body you can’t stand looking at. It’s spending every day trying to convince yourself you’re worth something while your own brain tears you apart. Constantly body checking, hiding behind clothes, bags, jackets. Feeling guilty after eating. Convincing yourself everyone can see what you see.

It’s your own mind convincing you that you’ll only be happy “when…” except that day NEVERRR seems to come.

People say “but you look fine!”

They don’t understand it’s not about what you look like or what they see. It’s about never getting a break or being able to escape that voice in your head that tells you you’ll never be enough.
