I still think its the funniest shit ever that when I used to volunteer at planned parenthood every week even though I walked past mostly the same protesters every single time they were begging me not to get an abortion theres other options yadda yadda. I’m sitting in a coffee shop right now, and there’s a teenage boy and girl (I’d say about 16-17) sitting at the next table over. At first I thought they were on a date, but actually the exact opposite is happening - no, not a breakup. I mean they’re talking about the fact that they both have a crush on the same girl. Currently they’re very earnestly debating whether they should ask her out one after another or if they should go together like in that one episode of Community.

Update: They are now flipping a coin to see who gets to go first 😭

Oh shit I think the girl they were talking about just came in? It doesn’t look like they planned to meet up, because the girl (she won the coin toss) went bright red and is trying to hide behind her purse.

im into some fucked up shit. raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. brown paper packages tied of with strings. i could go on but you couldnt even handle it

sometimes i wish i could tell other women that you can just stop removing your body hair and in many cases the consequences will be way less severe than u expect. you can go to the beach with all your leg hair intact and nobody will stop you or say a thing. you can stop waxing your upper lip and people won’t stare at it the way u might be bracing yourself for. you can quit plucking your brows and eventually they will grow back into themselves and no one will even notice. like for sure women are punished for not participating in beauty rituals but i also feel like so much of it is like The Panopticon sometimes where you just convince yourself that if u stop that kind of gendered upkeep everyone will be mad and stop talking to u forever when in reality you just keep existing and nothing remarkable happens. it’s not always easy but you can kind of just stop for real

they won't tell you this in therapy but sometimes the best way to stop catastrophizing/anxiety is to interrupt your spiraling with "girl what the hell are you talking about"

i know it's hard. but i so firmly believe the strongest antidote to loneliness is reaching out first. and continuing to reach out. again and again and again. excise any scrap of shame you hold about being the person who texts first or pitches the plan or asks to get lunch. everyone is tired and busy and struggling. and afraid of feeling unwanted and unimportant. don't let the people you love feel that way. reach out first. don't be a ghost in your own life.

every time you make freezer food for dinner instead of buying takeout like you actually want you should earn two hundred dollars cash and a round of applause

sometimes u have to be the catalyst for the funny tho. keep that in mind. sometimes u go from crying so hard on the kitchen floor you’re dry heaving into the linoleum and then forty-five seconds later you’re going absolutely bananas to t-pain. life comes at u fast. be faster.
