Last day of pride month 🌈
An with the last hour of the pride month ticking in Germany, I’m going to bed with a smile on my face.
Germany finally made the right decision to call a same-sex marriage an actual marriage. That same-sex partner finally can adopt children like heterosexual partners and things like the last will are made easier for same-sex partners.
I’m happy to be alive at a time like this, where love finally gets legalized, something that shouldn’t be prohibited for people.
Yet there are still countries where legalizing gay marriage is just a dream and some even criminalize homosexuality.
So even the Pride month being over today, we shouldn’t stop with the awerness of gay people. We should still keep being proud, offer a safe space for our community, stand up and fight for our rights and pray for the ones we’re too far away to help.
Being homosexual, transgender or whatever label you want to use or not use and being accepted is still no normality in our everyday life and it is our job to change it to make it something normal.
Our community might be far away from being normal, being one of the brightest and most colourful ones, but yet we are all human, we all bleed the same blood and we all love.
This pride month showed me that this community has a lot if love to offer and yet a long way to go, but with all this kindness and strength we will go our way and make the world more colourful.
Happy last day of pride month! 💕
p.s.: sorry for any mistakes, i literally wrote this in bed on my phone 😅
