Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated $26 million to at least 20 charities this week, a representative announced, in advance of a wedding reported to be taking place this weekend in New York.

The pair have still not officially acknowledged that nuptials are about to take place, and even the announcement of the charitable efforts does not mention the wedding, though it’s clear that the donations are part of this week’s celebrating.

The 20 charities include a number of food banks in different cities, educational programs and children’s hospitals or medical programs.

The announcement simply says, “This week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to charities across the United States. They include the following…”

In all seriousness though I did talk a little bit about the ivy/wcs mashup and while the muse discourse may colour it a little, I think it's even more eye-opening now about how relevant it now is to ~all this~.

(It's kinda funny how we were all aghast when she sang it in Sydney pre-TTPD, like what are we getting ourselves into, to hearing the album and being like OOOOOOOOOOH, to now kind of swinging back to the original ick lol.)

Like I've said many times over the last two years, in the end, the muses don't matter, it's the emotional inspiration that drives her writing. (The muses are, in the end, just the window dressing.) That being said, the way that these muses in particular have proven to have far, far more in common in their actions and the fallout as time has moved on is incredibly striking.

It's the way the mashup takes the conceit of being covered in ivy as the analogue to being completely wrapped up in this other person (positive) and flips it into being something suffocating and traumatic (negative) that just completely guts you.
