Lets regress into my teenage self

When the Bard Spell Vicious Mockery kills someone what’s the best way to explain it to your adventurers? 

My two so far have been: 

“The Goblin remembers calling his year 1 teacher Mum, he shakes his head to get away from the memory. He slips and bangs his head, killing him” 

All of my group leveled up to level 2 last session so they were all showing off a little to each other. 

Trey (Human Bard) being made fun of for being ’useless’ last session got through the whole Goblin cave unharmed, buffed his team mates and racked up the majority of the kills. He Thunderwaved as the first action in the final room to kill 4/8 enemies (causing me to hastily buff all the other Goblins). 

Armstrong (Goliath Berserker) Grabbed the Hobgoblin Captain and performed a back-breaker on him; Jernau (Dragonborn Monk) then ‘People’s Elbowed’ him. 

Phora (Wood Elf Ranger) firing at the prone Hobgoblin Captain that was being grappled by Armstrong and punched by Jernau missed. I made Phora roll percentile dice to see where the shot landed and she hit Jernau knocking him out! 

The final blow was Trey’s carving a T into a Goblin’s chest!
