God I love the way the themes of Hollow Knight and Silksong complement each other. Hollow Knight says to preserve something past its life is folly that desecrates all that was once good about it. Silksong says to allow something with life left in it to die is cruelty that leaves us with nothing but blind oblivion. How could we possibly determine where the line is? When is loving letting go, and when is loving clutching tight? We can't tell. A god with the ability to see the future couldn't. But we must try. That is what gives meaning to living, creating, and loving.
