I'm a member of this organization. The Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. It's a bit pricey to join at $95 for adults. They do give you access to the forums and a helpful online book about publishing. I feel like this is the best organization to join for children's literature. I'll keep you informed if I attend the summer conference and what I learn.
