Hi y'all! Apologies for not being active in over a month; I had an insanely busy holiday season and just didn't have the time to keep up with this blog along with everything else going on.
I seriously appreciate all my followers and people who have liked my stuff and I just wanted to let y'all know that I am (hopefully!) going to be slightly more active now that the holidays are over. I still can't be as active as I'd like since I'm about to start my last semester, but I'll do my best not to dissapear again.
I'd love it if people wanted to tag me in tag games, ask games, etc. or just tag me in works that they'd like me to read- I might not have time or energy to write stuff myself, but I love doing tag/ask games and I'd love to read what y'all are writing!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope it's fantastic and the inspiration keeps flowing. You don't need to go to fast, you'll get there when you get there.
Have a great day!
tysm! I actually did have a pretty good Valentine's day (played lots of Stardew lol). Honestly I really need to focus more on getting there when I get there and not worrying about the time it takes- thanks for reminding me!
Thanks to the amazing art of Teoldryir done by @sleep-dies, I’ve started working on a continuation of the adventures of our gold-seeking dragon.
The next part will feature a new oc, a hill brownie turned assassin (alright, maybe I read Dragon Rider a few times too many as a kid). I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek!
His thoughts were interrupted when a tall figure appeared along the road leading into the woods. The person strode with purpose towards the house, and the assassin winced as he waited.
Except the person didn't trigger a signal curse or trap or any of the magical pitfalls that surrounded the house. Every so often he would glare in the general direction of a spell, and then continue walking as if he owned the place.
The assassin knew this wasn't the target. The target had left the house exactly once and immediately locked himself in upon return. So who was this, then, walking in like he aimed to steal the reward right out from under the assassins’ nose?
Bristling with rage, the assassin hissed and leapt out of the tree, landing easily. He strode purposefully towards the person, leaping around the stinky spots of spells.
"Oi! Stop there! What do ya think you're doing?"
The tall figure stopped and turned, staring quizzically at the assassin. It wasn't often that five-foot-tall furry creatures appeared out of the woods to yell at this particular figure.
The assassin stopped dead in his tracks as he got a good look at the person. And then he gulped, because this wasn't a person- at least, not a human.
After all, Grann had been sure he knew how to spot a dragon.
I’m steadily working on continuing this continuation of Teoldryir’s adventures, but with college starting next week I can’t promise it anytime soon. In the meantime, I’ll do my best to perhaps share little dialogue tidbits and such- hope you enjoy!
Here’s my interpretation of @unfocused-ink ‘s character Teoldryir! They’re from a short story based on a writing prompt where a dragon goes to an adventuring guild and takes on all of the quests in exchange for gold. I suggest you give it a read if you can!
OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS AMAZING!!!akdhkaksjdjdhs he's beautiful!! your art style is so cool and I love how you drew him! like the clawed fingers and the scales under his eyes and alksdjjs you even drew his dragon form!!! this is so cool I'm so honored!
ahhh tysm this is, like, the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me lol. definitly is making me want to go write more about Teoldryir (I already have a bunch of new ideas lol)
just, oh my goodness thank you so much!!! I love this so freaking much 😁
It all seemed stupid, really. A dropped locket. A moment of searching. It shouldn't have affected anything.
But they had left without him. Marched away while he was frantically scouring through the grass. And now he didn't know what to do.
On the one hand, he could keep walking and hope to catch up, and not get chewed up by the general. On the other... well, he had never really wanted to be a knight. He could go back to the city.
But Glory- Glory was there. Sad to have said goodbye, but happy for him. The locket had been her goodbye present- and now even that was lost. How could he return to her, left behind and locketless?
So now he was just... walking. Trying to think of what to do. Head down, eyebrows scrunched, oblivious to everything around him-
"Wait!"
The shout made him look up, and there was very suddenly an angry hillichurl aiming a firebolt at his head.
He panicked for a moment, and that moment was all it took. The hillichurl shot, Godwin still frozen in panic-
-and a small body crashed into him, shoving him out of the way.
He fell to the ground with a grunt, and the person to whom he owed his life leapt back onto her feet, sword in hand.
She darted at the hillichurl as more swarmed over the hill, her blade a whirlwind. And she was creating an actual whirlwind too- shoving the hillichurls away in a tornado of air.
It was all over in a few seconds. The girl grinned, sheathing her blade, and hurried over to offer Godwin a hand up.
"They nearly had you. What had you so lost in thought?"
Godwin blushed, embarrassed, and reached up to mess with his hair. "Oh, nothing. Well, it is... something... but- no, nothing."
"Well, maybe try to focus more on where you're going and less on nothing, yeah?" The girl said, shaking her head in amusement.
"I will. Oh, and thank you for sharing my life- um-"
"I'm Cas." The girl answered the question hanging in the air.
"Thank you, Cas- that's an unusual name. Oh, I'm Godwin."
"Pleasure meeting you. I'm... not from around here. A traveler from distant- very distant- lands."
Godwin smiled, and then frowned, his mind already falling back into despair over what was to be done. Cas seemed to notice the change in his mood and frowned at him.
"Alright, what's got you upset."
"Oh, it's noth-"
"If you say 'nothing' again I just might punch you," Cas warned.
"Oh. Well... it's just, I was supposed to be going on an expedition, but I dropped a locket Glory- that's my, ehm, girlfriend- gave me, and I stopped to look for it and by the time I looked back up, everyone was gone. Now I've lost the locket and any respect I might have gotten from the knights."
Cas whistled, shaking her head. "That's tough. And so now what are you going to do?"
"That's the problem- if I go back, Glory will be sad I lost the locket and my chance at moving up the ranks, but if I go join Grand Master Varka, then they might just send me back anyways. And it's not like I even really want to go with them."
"Well, sounds to me like you need a little luck and confidence. If you don't want to be a knight, don't be one! After all, you handled that whole hillichurl thing rather poorly. If you want to go start a shop or something, you can leave the fighting to adventurers and people who enjoy that sort of thing."
"You really think so? But- the locket-"
"Like I said, you just need a bit of luck, and it would seem you've got some now- after all, it was pretty lucky I was passing by to keep you from getting an arrow through your head. And even if you don't find it, I'm sure this Glory girl will just be happy to have you back safe."
"Yeah." Godwin brightened, grinning, deciding the traveler was right. Glory would just be glad to have him back. "Yeah, you're right. Thank you, Traveler Cas."
"My pleasure. Watch out for hillichurls on your way back to Mondstat- and good luck!"
"And good luck to you on your adventures!" Godwin called as the traveler walked away, waving back to him.
He turned back towards the city, a new spring in his step and resolve written on his face. The traveler was right- he just needed some luck, and the locket would show up. And he was feeling pretty lucky all of a sudden.
<>
The towering walls and windmills of Mondstat reached for the sky, birds gliding past as the clouds raced across the expanse of blue. Godwin, however, was far too focused on the green and brown of the ground to see the beauty above him.
He scanned carefully, even running his hands along the ground, and he was starting to feel like he may not be lucky at all. He'd looked everywhere near where he'd been standing, even traced his steps back into the city, and still nothing.
He didn't notice the kid eyeing him from the bushes, giggling as Godwin grunted and patted the ground. The kid must have had enough fun now, though, because he stepped out of the bushes and coughed politely.
Godwin looked up, brushing grass from his hands. The kid grinned, sticking out his hand to show a silver chain with a bit of metal at the end.
"Looking for this, Mister?"
"The locket!" Godwin clapped his hands, beaming, and accepted the necklace from the kid. He inspected it, running his fingers along the familiar designs.
"Thank you!" Ruffling the kid's hair as he stood up and hurried past, Godwin felt like running as he entered the city. Everything was looking up.
He hurried over the familiar cobblestone streets, climbing sets of stairs until he saw the familiar bushes with the bench in front. Sitting there, her head turned away, was the most beautiful girl Godwin had ever laid eyes on.
"Glory!" He cried, and the head whipped around. She smiled in his direction, waiting as he ran up and sat next to her, grabbing her hands in his.
"Oh, Glory, you'll never believe what happened! But here- this is yours, and I think I'd better give it back before I lose it again."
"Wait, lose it? Godwin-"
"I'll explain! But here, I'm putting it back around your neck, okay?"
Glory nodded and Godwin brushed her hair back and clasped the locket around her neck, dropping it into its familiar place on her chest. He brushed her cheek, drinking in the sight of her. Even though it had only been a day, it felt like forever.
"Godwin, what are you doing back? Of course I'm happy to see you, but what about the knights?"
"Oh, Glory, I don't want to be a knight. I want to live with you in a little house outside the city where you can smell the wildflowers and feel the wind in your hair. And I never would have built up the courage to tell you if I hadn't lost your locket, and then been left behind, and then met the traveler-"
Glory laughed, a sound that made his heart melt. "Alright, slow down. One thing at a time! Start from the beginning- you lost my locket?"
"Yes, I lost your locket, and then.."....
<>
One exciting story and several kisses and moments spent holding hands and smiling at each other, Godwin sighed happily and rested his head on Glory's shoulder. She patted his hand smiling down at him.
"So... a house outside the city, with flowers, hmm? How long have you been thinking about that?"
"Oh, a while now. I just- well- I want to spend the rest of my life with you. If you'll have me, I mean, you don't have to-"
Godwin blushed and stuttered nervously, wincing. This was not how he'd imagined this going, but it did feel right.
Glory laughed shaking her head. "Oh, your cheeks must be flaming red right now. Of course I want to spend my life with you, silly! I always have, ever since I met you and you took me out on a date to go stargazing."
"Yeah, that was a really terrible date, huh," Godwin laughed, remembering. "I can't believe you didn't dump me then and there."
"Well, it was rather attractive. You were so nervous about everything you didn't even remember I can't see... but if I'm honest, that was one of my favorite times with you. Hearing you talk about the stars, and try to describe everything- you were adorable."
Godwin smiled, squeezing Glory's hand, and she did in return. They sat a moment, simply enjoying each other's company.
"So... about that little house..."
<>
A little over a month later...
The dirt was cool on his fingers as he dug deeper, wanting to make sure the roots had plenty of room to grow. Satisfied, he sat back, admiring his handiwork. He picked up the delicate plant, carefully lowering it in and covering it back up with dirt.
Sprinkling some water on it, he stood up, looking around. Flowers covered the small hillside, most of them wild. The ones he'd bought were closer to the house, arranged around a path. The city of Mondstat towered in the distance, sun shining on the lake around it. It was the most beautiful little hillside he had ever seen.
A door opened and closed behind him and he turned, seeing Glory holding onto the doorframe as she stepped out.
He hurried up, gently taking her elbow. She smiled and squeezed his hand, stepping up next to him.
"Is it time for the tour?" Glory asked, and Godwin nodded eagerly, then realized his mistake.
"Oh! Yes! Comfortable? Ready? Okay, we go this way..."
He led Glory along the path, giving her time to feel along it. As they walked he excitedly described the view and flowers to her, and she beamed up at him.
They stopped at the bench he had bought, sitting. Glory breathed in deeply and sighed, turning her face towards the wind.
"It smells so fresh," she said, leaning into Godwin. "All the flowers and the breeze... it's perfect."
"Only because you're here," Godwin said, lightly kissing her head. He looked around, noticing a familiar small figure running down the nearby path.
He waved and Cas waved back, not slowing down as she continued on whatever adventure she was on. Godwin knew she'd stop in to say hi at some point, and he was looking forward to introducing her to the cat Glory had adopted.

“I’m here to sign on for a quest,” a rumbling voice filled the small antechamber of the Raggin Inn, and the receptionist sitting at the large oak desk started flipping through a well-worn book without looking up.
“Level of danger?” The receptionist said, the monotone voice a stark contrast to the rough one.
The creature waiting snorted a laugh. “Any.”
The receptionist paused at that. The word didn’t contain any poofed-up-ego. It was very matter of fact- as though the thought that any amount of danger scared whatever the creature was, was impossible.
Pushing their glasses up their nose, the receptionist looked up, a faint smell of burning coming to them as they saw the strangely shaped object taking up most of the antechamber.
Upon more inspection, they realized the object was only part of the creature. A neck led outside to where the rest of the body must be. And as the receptionist realized this, they also realized that the reason why the creature was so big and smelled of fire and smoke was because it was a dragon.
“Oh!” With a nervous clatter, the receptionist knocked over a bottle of ink. Their hands shook as they attempted to wipe up the spill.
A flash of white as the dragon grinned, and the receptionist gave a nervous gulp, seeing the pointy teeth mere feet away. “Scared you, did I? Sorry.” The dragon didn’t sound at all sorry.
The dragon’s form flickered and shifted, and soon the mass disappeared, replaced by a tall figure that strode across the antechamber to stand in front of the desk. Graceful, with long fingers and a slim build, the figure had dark skin and resembled a humanoid in all but it’s eyes, which were a deep amber with slits for pupils.
“I suppose introductions must be made; that’s the polite thing to do. I am Teoldryrir of Aiya. And you?”
“M-Mosse,” the receptionist stumbled, clearing their throat several times as they tried to sit in a commanding pose again. Considering they were sitting across from a dragon, the commanding pose didn’t come off very commanding.
“Well, ‘M-mosse’, I do believe we have more to get to? I’m here to sign on for a quest, any level of danger. Gold reward only.”
Mosse nodded several times too many, clearing their throat again as they flipped through the book. Running their finger down the list of words on the page, they hummed, risking glances at Teoldryrir.
“Right- um- there’s several bounties out for ne’er-do-wells- gold reward of course- or a quest to explore for the lost kingdom of Shoilia- only reward for that one is a split of the spoils if you find it-” Mosse seemed to realize they were rambling and stopped, their right eye starting to tick nervously.
“I’ll take them all, then. Lost kingdoms are easy to find, and I can pick up some bounties along the way.” Teoldryrir grinned, and Mosse realized with a start that the dragon’s teeth were still pointed. “Plenty of gold if I do all that, yes?”
“Y-yes...” Mosse trailed off and nodded. “A small fortune.”
Humming with appreciation, the dragon flicked his long hair over his shoulder. “Where do I sign, then?”
“Oh- yes- sign-” with a start, Mosse dug a clean sheet of paper from a stack. They scrawled some words down and then offered the sheet to the dragon, pointing to an underlined blank spot with a shaking finger.
Teoldryrir dug a single pointed fingernail into his skin, gathering a small pool of glistening blood. He carefully signed an unintelligible name, which released a poof of smoke when he was done. The dragon looked at the trembling receptionist and grinned.
“That’s signed with dragons blood, then. No going back on your word now or you’ll... well...” The dragon shrugged and blew a small puff of fire. Mosse shivered.
“Right, right... well then..” nervously clearing their throat, Mosse took the paper back and carefully set it to one side. “We’ll require proof of- ah- completion, of course, but once you- ah- get the deed done, the reward is yours.”
The receptionist carefully handed over a list of the quests and their conditions, which the dragon tucked into his robe. With a rumbling laugh, he was back out the door, leaving one last flick of a scaled tail and the receptionist wondering what happened to the dragon’s clothes when he changed shape.
Hands shaking, Mosse hurried to the large wooden door opposite their desk, tripping over a chair and bruising their knee on the way. They paused, blinking furiously, and then knocked.
“Come in,” a grumpy voice called from the other side, and Mosse shoved the door open, bowing slightly to the large figure inside.
“What is it, then?” the man said, looking up from the stack of gold coins he was counting. Mosse gulped, trying to decide which was scarier- the dragon that had left, or the man that they were going to have to tell about the dragon.
“W-ell, you see, sir- we just had a, ahem, adventurer stop by to pick up some quests, and ah-”
“Well, spit it out. Some fool off to get himself killed?”
“Well, the thing is, sir.... I don’t think he’s going to, erm, die. Or even get hurt. See, he was.... ah, a dragon. Sir.”
The clinking of coins stopped abruptly, and the man slowly looked up to glare at Mosse. The receptionist gulped.
“A dragon. Took on a quest.”
“Actually, he took on... all of them.”
“All. Of. Them. A dragon came in and took on all of the impossible quests that we designed to get rid of pesky adventurers that would interfere with my business.”
“Ah, yes. Sir.”
“And now I’m going to have to fork out all the gold I have collected, to a dragon, or risk having my place burnt to the ground.”
Mosse nodded, casting anxious glances towards the desk they had left behind. This was supposed to be an easy job, a start in the shady world that would have hopefully led to them being a crime overlord at some point. Now they doubted they were going to live much past next week.
The man took a deep breath, his face starting to turn red. He threw an arm up, furiously pointing towards the door. Mosse, eager to take any chance to leave, dipped a half bow and scurried back out to their desk.
The door closed behind them and Mosse heard a scream of rage, followed by a clatter of things being thrown. Scooping up a mess of papers and stuffing them in a bag, Mosse decided they would rather try their start somewhere else than risk getting eaten by a dragon.
Bursting out into the bright sunlight, Mosse hopped on the back of the nearest chickogriff, nudging it into a run without another glance back at the inn, the furious yells of the boss chasing them into the forest.
The problem with learning how to write a screenplay is that now, instead of just having a million different ‘book’ stories I want to write, I now have a million different screenplays I want to write. Especially because some of my ideas would work better on screen than on paper.
Sophie sighed and shook her head. “Keefe, I swear, you’re almost catching up to me with Elwin visits.”
Keefe gave her a grin. “Nah, no one can beat Mysterious Miss F. with Elwin visits. You basically live there.”
Glaring at him, Sophie checked her imparter. She’d called Elwin as soon as Keefe had landed with a painful snap after attempting a triple back-flip. She was pretty sure he had broken something. He was right about the Elwin visits, though- Elwin basically had a shrine around what he called “Sophie’s Bed”, she visited there so much.
“Grady had better not find out about this or he’ll never let you hang out with me,” Keefe said. “I just got him to start using my name instead of just calling me ‘that boy’.”
“You should be more worried about your dad- what’s he going to think?”
“My dad?” Keefe laughed bitterly, “He barely even manages to say ‘good morning’ to me, you really think he’s going to talk to me long enough to find out the events of my day?”
Sophie frowned, wishing she could knock some sense into Lord Cassius. The elves may think of themselves as the supreme race, but they still really sucked sometimes.
“Hey, let’s not talk about my dad though,” Keefe said, noticing her frown. “Why don’t we talk about the fact that I almost basically did a triple back-flip?”
“You didn’t even manage one!” Sophie said, forcing a laugh to make Keefe happy.
“Yeah, but I totally will next time.”
“Whatever you guys are talking about, there’d better not be a next time.” Sophie felt a surge of relief as she turned and saw the new voice.
“Elwin!”
“Hey, Sophie. For once I’m not rushing off to bring you back from the brink of death!” Elwin grinned, happy as usual. He set down a bag and set to work checking on Keefe.
“Yup, broken bone. Easily fixed. How about next time you do whatever you were doing, you try to avoid smacking against hard ground, huh?”
Sophie breathed a sigh of relief. Even though she’d figured it had only been something easily fixed, she’d worried nonetheless.
“Whoa, were you that worried? Trust me, I’ve done worse- broken bone is nothing!” Keefe said, waving a hand in front of his face and grinning.
“He has,” Elwin confirmed, giving Keefe some various things to drink.
“Yeah, well, I still don’t like watching it happen. How about you try not to hurt yourself when I’m around?”
“Anything for you, Sophie,” Keefe said, attempting a half bow. Sophie rolled her eyes but grinned.
“Alright, Mr. Mischief-” (”Ooo, I like that one,” Keefe muttered) “- don’t do anything strenuous. You’ll sleep like a dead man and wake up good as new.”
Elwin packed his things up while Sophie and Keefe thanked him, blinking away in a flash of light.
“Want me to take you home?” Sophie asked, knowing the answer as she said it.
“Naw, I’ll be fine. See you at school tomorrow.”
“Yeah, see you-” Keefe blinked away with a final smile. “- tomorrow.”
Sophie sighed and raised her home crystal to the light, feeling the familiar feather brush as she returned home.
<>
“How’d the date go?”
Sophie was back home and eating supper. Grady and her both sighed at Edaline’s comment, then smiled at each other.
“It wasn’t a date, Mom,” Sophie said, feeling the word slip comfortably off her tongue. She’d only started calling her adopted parents Mom and Dad recently, and though it still felt slightly sad, it felt right too. It felt like it fit.
“Cute boy, cute girl, alone... sounds like a date!” Edaline said, frowning as she looked at her plate. She reached out and summoned a bowl of bread.
“Sure, he’s cute... but I don’t like him like that! We’re just friends.”
“If you say so,” Edaline said with a shrug. Sophie stuck her tongue out and her parents both laughed.
“No dating in this house until you’re at least twelve hundred years old,” Grady said, grinning to show he was joking- though only a little bit. Sophie was okay with that, though. She didn’t really feel like dating anyone any time soon.
“So anything fun happen?”
Sophie thought back to the sound of Keefe’s bone breaking and winced, then shook her head.
“Hey now, I know that look- something bad happened, didn’t it? You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
“No, I’m fine- Keefe just took a tumble-” Sophie thought that should be a safe answer.
“A tumble?”
“He’s fine,” Sophie said, as much to convince herself as her parents. Keefe would be fine, Elwin had said so-
Her imparter rang and she grabbed it, feeling her heart dropped as she saw who was calling.
“Keefe- you never call this late, are you okay?”
Grady frowned and Sophie ignored it, seeing Keefe’s face fill the screen. He looked- broken. Sophie had never seen him like this, and she felt worry squeeze her chest.
“Yeah... I’d love to say something funny right now but... I don’t think I’m fine, Soph. My dad- he-”
Keefe flinched at a loud voice Sophie couldn’t make out. “Can I come over? Just for tonight- I’ll sleep in the stables or something-”
“Keefe, of course- what happened-”
“Tell you in a bit.” Keefe looked relieved as Sophie gave permission for him to come over and he blinked away.
Sophie was already rushing to where he’d be beaming in, wanting answers to the million questions she had, and also wanting to make sure Keefe was actually okay.
A flash of light, and Keefe was there. He flashed a grin and Sophie felt some worry fall off-
- until he winced and clutched his chest, falling to the ground.
“Keefe!” Sophie cried, rushing across the room to him. She was already digging out her imparter, ready to call Elwin.
“Hey, Foster. Grady’s not pissed I’m coming over, is he? Cause I can probably find somewhere else to stay-”
“I’m pretty sure I’m the least of your worries right now,” Grady said, crossing the room with Edaline by his side. “What happened?”
“My dad found out I um- broke a bone- which would have totally healed, by the way- and... I dunno, I guess that was the tipping point or something? He, uh- well, there was a heavy object nearby and- I think I may have broken some more bones...” Keefe tried to grin, trying to turn it into a joke, and Sophie felt something in her heart die a little.
She’d always thought Keefe might be downplaying how bad his home life was. Back when she thought she was a human, she’d known some kids who had left an abusive household, and Keefe had always seemed to have the signs. She’d just never dug into it because she didn’t want to invade his privacy- though now she felt bad about that.
“You’re saying Lord Cassius... hit you?” Grady sounded disbelieving, and Sophie had to remind herself that to the elves, stuff like this was probably unheard of. Or at least, they refused to believe it.
“Naw, a statue hit me. Dad just threw it.”
Edaline gasped, covering her mouth and looking at Grady. He frowned and shook his head, and Sophie was worried he was about to say something stupid. Thankfully, he didn’t.
“Well, you’re welcome to stay here as long as you need... son.” He added the last word as an afterthought, and Sophie saw tears spring up in Keefe’s eyes.
Elwin appeared, effectively distracting everyone. He hurried to Keefe and inspected him, frowning.
“I can’t leave you alone for any amount of time without one of you getting hurt, can I,” he said gently. Keefe grinned a little, then winced again.
“Alright then, let’s get you fixed up. You’re going to sleep like a rock once I give you one of these, so where do you want to pass out?”
“He can borrow Sophie’s bedroom and we’ll throw some pillows and blankets in our room for her- if that’s okay, Sophie?”
“Of course,” Sophie said. “I’ll go grab my stuff.”
“Gee, getting to sleep in the room of the Mysterious Miss F- I should’ve had my dad throw a statue at me sooner,” Keefe joked as Sophie left.
Grabbing some blankets and Ella, Sophie looked at her remaining stuffed animals and arranged them for Keefe. He’d need some comfort, even if it came from stuffed creatures.
“You be good, okay? Keep Keefe company,” Sophie instructed Iggy, heaving the blankets as she carried them to her parents room. She threw them in one of the side rooms, setting Ella gently on top of them.
She arrived back to her room in time to see Elwin giving Keefe a vial.
“See you later, Soph,” Keefe said, giving her a wobbly smile. He downed the contents of the vial and coughed, waving a hand in front of his face.
“Ew, Elwin, do your remedies always taste like shi-” he paused mid-sentence, and soon snores filled the room.
“He’ll probably sleep until midday tomorrow at least- he’s got a lot of healing to do.”
“He’ll be okay though, right?” Sophie tugged out an eyelash.
“Physically? He’ll be good as new. Mentally? That might take a while to heal.”
“He can stay here as long as he needs, though. He may be a mischief-maker and troublesome prankster, but I will admit he’s got a good heart somewhere in there.” Grady smiled at Sophie and she smiled back.
“Thanks, Dad. And thanks, Elwin.”
Elwin nodded and headed out, probably heading back home.
“Alright kiddo, might as well go to bed. We’ll see how Keefe is tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay,” Sophie whispered, casting one last glance at Keefe before following her parents out of her room and towards her temporary bed.

Happy (late) Storyteller Saturday!! If you OC(s) were to win the lottery, what would they do with the money?
Ooo fun! Sorry I didn’t get to this sooner!
Mira would probably be responsible enough to put most of the money into investments/etc. for the long run, but would save enough to buy some fancy new art supplies and lots of scones from the local coffeeshop.
Em would blow most of the money right away on a new office, new tools, and art supplies for Mira because she loves seeing her get excited- and loves watching her create art. The way her tongue pokes out when she’s concentrating, and she brushes her hair out of her face, forgetting her hands are covered in wet paint- *gay sigh*.
This week has been super busy with getting through online classes so I apologize for not responding to anything. I know I have something sitting in my inbox and I promise I’ll get to it!
I’m also heading up to the family cottage for this weekend and some of next week to get away from my family for a bit; we don’t have internet and terrible cell service up there so I probably won’t be active until I get back.
Again, apologies if I leave things sitting in my inbox- I’ll make sure to get to them as soon as I’m back home in the land of WiFi!
Ahhhhh tysm for the ask! I’m so happy you like my OCs! I know I haven’t posted a lot of content about them yet but I’m hoping to add more now that I’m stuck at home for the foreseeable future :)
I hopped on over to check your blog out and From Shadows sounds really cool! The synopsis really made me interested in the WIP (as someone who struggles with creating synopsis’ I’m a lil jealous). Brighton definitely sounds like someone I would like to befriend and hang out with!
Currently unable to write anything (writers block- ugh!) so I figured I may as well make some dialogue prompts!
Please tag with #dialoguepromptui (the ui stands for my username so I can find it easily!) if you use any- I’d love to see/share them!
“What do you mean we’re stuck in a time loop? What did you do?”
“How many times do I have to tell you, it’s three sprigs of lavender, not three spritzes of rose? We’re trying to make a sleeping potion, not a love potion. Unless you want the pregnant goat to fall in love with you?”
“So... you meant to light our house on fire? Why would you purposefully do something like that?”
--------
Person A: “No, we cannot adopt a hellhound...”
Person B: *gives them puppy dog eyes*
Person A: “... fine, we can adopt a hellhound. But you’re potty training him.”
--------
Person B: “... I don’t think that’s where that’s... supposed to go.”
Mira is a daydreaming artist who has lived in Rocky Falls since moving away from her parents at the age of nineteen. She spends her days sketching and painting, or wandering throughout town looking for things to draw. Often her mind is caught up with ideas and she’ll pay no attention to her surroundings, which can sometimes frustrate people.
Em found her gaze drawn to the girl sitting in the corner table by the window. Red hair, brown eyes, freckles across the face. Em would put her at mid-twenties. The girl was lost in thought, chewing on a pen with a dreamy look on her face as she stared out the window.
"Coffee and muffin for Mira!" The barista called across the coffee shop, though his eyes were on the day-dreaming girl. She didn't respond to the call and neither did anyone else.
The barista sighed, opened his mouth as though to try again, and then shook his head. Em took another sip of her coffee- hot and black, just how she liked it- and watched as he grabbed a pebble from a plant display and cast one more look at the day-dreamer before chucking the pebble at her.
The pebble hit its mark and the girl jumped, jerked abruptly from her thoughts. She glanced around sheepishly and noticed the barista, who pointedly shoved the coffee and muffin closer to her.
"Oh, Henry, sorry. You know how I am." Day-dreamer blushed and stood up to grab her order, returning to her table and turning her attention back outside. Apparently whatever idea she'd been looking for had finally shown up, as she began sketching in a notebook instead of chewing on her pen.
Em made a mental file for day-dreamer as she always did- appeared to be an artist, doesn't pay attention to surroundings, rainbow pin on her bag.
Rainbow pin? Em did a double take as she realized what the pin meant. That was interesting- Em had yet to meet anyone in the town who was lgbt. Even though she usually made a point not to become too friendly with locals, Em figured it wouldn't hurt to find out more about the artist.
She felt a grin flit across her face as she saw day-dreamer, thoroughly invested in her sketch now, bring her coffee up to her mouth and attempt to take a bite from it. Still working on the sketch with her right hand, day-dreamer set the coffee back down and felt around on her table for the muffin.
Yes, Em was definitely going to find out more about the artist. She seemed like someone who might make Em's stay in Rocky Falls a little more exciting.

black coffee and cigarettes. she also weaves daisy chains
WIP: Murder at Rocky Falls
Female- she/her
Pansexual
28
Em Grashom is a private detective hired by the town of Rocky Falls to investigate the murders that have been happening. She’s sarcastic, keeps to herself, lives on black coffee and cigarettes, and weaves daisy chains in her free time.
Em Grashom tilted back in her chair, pulling the cigarette from her lips as she added to the growing cloud of smoke swirling around her head.
Three dead bodies. Murdered, the local police thought. A big deal in a small town like- she glanced back at the hastily scrawled notes- Rocky Falls. People in towns like those didn't just wind up dead in a gravel pit without foul play.
Theories were already running through Em's mind, and she shook her head to dislodge them- theories were all well and good, but logical thinking was also needed. The first logical step was deciding whether or not to take the case, which was an easy choice. Business had been slow lately, and Em needed some more cases to work.
Next logical step. Gather up everything she would need and fly into Rocky Falls so she could start investigating. A quick Google search showed there was a larger town nearby that had an airport and several hotels, so that part of the trip was easily taken care of.
Humming, Em took another puff from her cigarette and turned back to the notes she had taken during the phone call from the sheriff of Rocky Falls. Three bodies, all with bullet wounds to the head and multiple stab wounds on the torso. All bodies had been left in the local abandoned gravel pit. None of the victims were locals.
An interesting case. Em would need more information before she really started working it, but for now, she had the basic facts. Enough to convince her to call the sheriff back and tell him she would be taking the case.
The cloud of smoke continued to grow as Em prepared, printing out emails from the sheriff with files about the case. She felt the thrill of it starting to pound through her, adrenaline pumping through her veins as she pulled out a small black notebook and started writing in sloppy, slanted ink.
Rocky Falls had become grounds for a mystery, and Em was itching to solve it.
Happy Storyteller Saturday!! Which one of your OCs is the best cook? Who claims that their food tastes amazing but in reality it isn’t? Who has no clue about cooking?
Thanks so much for the ask! (even though I’m getting to it a day late)
I’m going to go ahead and use several different OC’s from both my wips and a screenplay I’m working on~ hopefully that’s okay! I’ve never done any of these before :)
Fay is definitely the best cook, as she runs a coffee shop and makes all kinds of delicious pastries, sandwiches, drinks, and more. She has a recipe book from her mother (and her mother’s mother and so forth) that she’s constantly updating with new things she makes. Her expertise mainly lies in baking though- while she can make great sandwiches and drinks, her mother had a recipe for puff pastry that is simply heavingly, and Fay is well-known for her turnovers and such.
Mira would be the one to claim her food tastes amazing but it actually isn’t. She usually gets too distracted while cooking with a new idea for an art piece or by something outside she has to go sketch, and thus winds up screwing up the recipe.
Lastly, Naledi would be the one who has no clue about cooking. Since they’ve spent most (aka all) of their life as a star, they’ve never had a need to cook or eat, and so they’re still getting used to making food. They did once try to make muffins as a surprise for Fay, but they nearly wound up burning their house down, so they decided it’s probably best they let Fay do the cooking.
