Unhinged Hyperfixation Time

I say this every time, but people Do Not Realize just how short the timeline has been on gay people in kids’ media. And it’s an ongoing fight, but this was 10 - 15 years ago.

I'm not in the Steven Universe fandom. I don't really even know the show. But the story she's telling here is important to remember. What feels like small snippets of representation took a lot of fighting to get and it wasn't as long ago as you think.

Even not liking the Beatles, living through that would have made me violent.

Men will say things like “women choose bad careers” “women choose bad hobbies” etc etc and then take things women love and are good at and kick them out of the club and put a giant “no girls allowed” sign on it and we’re supposed to just pretend that shit doesn’t happen on the regular.

“Too many girls do this thing, it’s not cool anymore” and that thing is computer science. Nursing. Getting a law degree. Becoming a biologist. Knowing how to read and write.

The thing that kills me about the beatles is that they are just really good pop songs. Its not that deep but people read way too much into it.

we need to bring back the phrase "what business is it of yours" in a big way i'm serious

i know you can just say "none of your business" but phrasing it as a question with a jarringly formal tone is the ideal way to shoot an overfamiliar unwelcome overture dead in its tracks and force the person making it to confront the boundaries they're taking for granted + it would really piss people off which is funny

similarly to how you should never trust gamers with a nonbinary character i feel like you can also never trust a fandom with an aroace character. whether it's explicitly canon or implied it just ends up the same

every time an allo person wants to ship an aroace spec coded character they should write an essay with MLA format citations on how this serves the themes of the story and is necessary for the character and how their ship is any different than the relationships said character already has and they should also send $500 dollars minimum to at least one aroace person in their fandom

I love this incredibly niche complaint! Get some heritage breeds, they do totally still exist. Same could likely be said about some other animals like pigs, sheep, and cows.
