Today we've received more Oriq threats, and two students were found dead. it feels like it's less a question of *if* something happens, but *when*. Considering the situation the deans have agreed that we are going to be following heightened security protocols. This is already immensely stressful, but it doesn't *quite* end there While I am not allowed to go into detail on the protocols, nor would I if I were, I can tell you that teachers are grouped up to make sure nobody is ever isolated. I got grouped up with the skeleton guy... if there is some grand entity who guides the whims of fate, I'm going to punch them in the nose.

I just walked in on a fellow teacher doing a slow dance with one of his display skeletons. I'm not one to judge, but the several seconds of awkward eye contact backed by smooth jazz has taken years off of my life. I sincerely hope that we are able to avoid each other for the forseeable future.

Got into my new lodgings, things are unpacked, some of my new coworkers were even kind enough to buy me dinner. seem like good people. one thing I didn't expect is that the mana of the plane just feels different. it doesn't want to mix, it wants to oppose itself and find a balance point. it's pretty weird, but it shouldn't take too long to get used to. maybe some minor adjustments to a spell or 2 to improve the efficiency. I'll keep it light, but there's a massive headache brewing rn, so it appears that my luck *has* followed me.

Just getting packed for the move today. it's terrifying in a way. for the first time in my life I'm not going to be in Ravnica. as much as I love to bitch and moan about the city, I love this place, it's my home. I want it to get better, I want to see the best in it. my family loved Ravnica too, they were willing to kill and die for what they believed would lead to a better Ravnica. but ultimately this is temporary. I'll eventually come back with more zinos too my name, more experiences under my belt, and probably a few more greying hairs if my luck is to persist. doesn't help that having to dig through my stuff has managed to dredge up a lot of old memories. most of em were kinda awful, but they still make it that much harder to go.

Got some mail a few days ago, one of the real fancy wax sealed envelopes the Orzhov types like to use, paper was perfumed too! It says I've been offered a trial position at Strixhaven, they want to start offering courses on interplanar history, and it seems like somehow my resume got mixed in with the actual Ravnican history experts! Alternatively, pickings are slimmer than I had previously assumed. I need to verify, but if this is real it's the opportunity of a lifetime for me. If the exchange tables are accurate it'd nearly double my current salary, not to mention that they're offering on campus lodging, plus a bit of funding I can use for necessary materials and moving expenses. I sent a letter up to Strixhaven so that they can verify whether or not they sent me any offers. I'll temper my expectations, but I can't help but hope this is real.
