My father finally opened up to me about his experience growing up during the Biafran War. My heart hurts so bad.

Reminder that most Igbo children of today carry testimonies of a Biafran childs survival. That child being their parents. Not grand parents o, but parents who survived a genocidal war funded by colonisers.

Rlly not into researching certain designers or brands. I just like reflecting the beauty of nature. I always zone out when ppl talk about things like this, not a bone of interest in my body. I think it’s best to introduce things to me out of their rigid frameworks

Not to mention talks about clothing that costs x100000 of a child’s daily survival like it’s nothing. Price tags on clothes or materials that seem to be “relics” in the fashion world don’t impress me at all. They just make me angry. Especially when a lot of the sourcing is not beneficial 2 dis earth but rather to the white supremacist economies we call the global market.

Happy pride month to all my African and queer folk, it’s not easy!!!!

I’ve never been used to celebrating the month bc the African queer mind of mine is used to queerness as something that is just naturally coded into my lyf rather than something I shout out loud. However it’s important now more than ever bc of the increased anti-queer agenda within “progressing” African politics and societies. I pray and pray for the liberation of my fellow queer Africans bc existence becomes harder and harder everyday as we continue to battle systems built against our existential knowledge.
