Underneath Evergreens

I always feel this....... paralyzing fear when it comes to working on this universe. I've never felt like I had anything worth saying. I tend to gravitate towards making things that make me laugh, not anything with any deeper meaning outside of just....being a quick chuckle. So I think I'm just scared, scared that I'll show you my heart and you won't like it because it isn't deep or interesting or anything worthwhile. Hmm.

Kin do count days, but beyond a few days, they count in Moons! One Moon is a month consisting of 28 days, and each season has 3 Moons, excluding Sun Tide which has 4.

Each year has a total of 13 Moons, which they call a Sun cycle or just a Sun.

The seasons in The Evergreen are as follows:

Sun Wake (Spring)

Sun Tide (Summer)

Sun Fade (Fall)

Sun Slumber (Winter)

And below is The Evergreen calendar! The Sun and Moon are very important to Kin, given they provide warmth, light, boost magik, and keep time.

As for festivities... there’s always something to celebrate in the world of The Evergreen— love, friends, family, life, food and harvest, death, rebirth, seasons, etc… Kin love to celebrate with food and with each other at any given opportunity, so there are many holidays and celebrations during every season.

There's actually at least one holiday per Moon, but the ones marked on this calendar (with yellow stars) are just some of the major ones.

Sun Wake Festivals

New Sun Celebration

Just like the name suggests, this is a celebration for the coming of Sun Wake and the birth of a new Sun cycle.

Sproutsfaire

This is Sun Wake festival that takes place during the last Moon of the season, it’s a celebration of the coming seasons and a gathering for Kin to trade wares, food, seeds, and stories.

Sun Tide Festivals

Midday Festival

A festival that takes place in the middle of the season, it marks the longest day of the Sun cycle. Kin will celebrate from dawn to dusk, dancing and feasting all day long.

Sun Fade Festivals

Pinefall Celebration

The Pinefall Celebration takes place during the first Moon of Sun Fade. It’s a celebration of the coming Sun Fade season, as well as a goodbye to the Sun Fade season.

Kin’s Feast

During the last Moon of Sun Fade, Kin come together for Kin’s Feast; a large gathering of family and friends for a great meal.

Sun Slumber Festivals

Midnight Festival

A festival that takes place during the second Moon of the season, it marks the shortest day of that Sun cycle. Kin will make great bonfires and celebrate and feast all throughout the night.

Tenderheart

One of the longest festivals of the Sun cycle, is Tenderheart. It spans the entirety of the second and third Moons in the season, it’s a time of reflection and recuperation. Kin will often show their gratitude to their loved ones by giving special gifts during this time.
