charmiism:
Meg frowned, trying unconvincingly to look annoyed - if Vidia hadnât laughed, she probably wouldâve been. After all, what use did hermit crabs have? They couldnât play games or curl up with you after a long day like a dog or even a cat could. Not only that, but they were revolting to look at, some demented child of a spider and a slug. Megâs grin betrayed her true amusement, the dark haired brunette rolling her eyes at her best friend. âNow youâre really guaranteeing no more dates for the future. One look at your snail collection and youâll definitely be in a dry spell.â Her grin grew bigger at Vidiaâs words. âObviously weâd just smash them together and both take that name. Flalentive or Vloros. Something like that.â Though she was teasing, Meg agreed, itâd be nice to be out of the dating game: itâd certainly be a relief to stop second guessing every interaction, every date and having each one end in failure. It was her fault, Meg knew that, silently comparing each date to her ex, self conscious about her own self worth that she was unable to give anyone a chance. Chuckling, she caught the double entrede, throwing Vidia a wink. âWho says Iâd be under you? Iâve been in this game for years now. Iâm sure I could take control in no time.â
â hey now, look at that yellow sponge guy - he seemed to be enjoying life immensely and he had a pet sn-wait, i take it back. enjoying life immensely sounds rather unpleasant. â her example backfiring - or maybe shedding some light to herself - vidia laughed. â vloros sounds powerful, itâs got my vote. someone with that last name could take over the world just by flashing their license, itâs THAT potent a name. â vidia wasnât about to compare thee to a summerâs day but she found herself suddenly grateful for her friendship with meg - it never felt like it was something she had to work at or like she needed to be anyone other than herself or have any sort of stupid stressful worry about how to maintain a friendship with someone. maybe it was because in a lot of ways, they were one in the same and in the places they werenât one in the same, their differences didnât clash. it was just...nice. but again, she wasnât about to get all sappy and tell meg she was her best friend or point out that she was probably one of the closest friends she had ever had but vidia hoped a laughing grin said what she wasnât equipped to express herself. âokay fine, since sharing is caring and all that nonsense, weâll be the best of best friends and take turns. and once weâre married, anyone who wants to take us out has to go through a rigorous screening process from the other. itâll save us both so much time in life, thereâs nothing about this scenario that isnât completely win-win on every front. â
