SISEA uses “bad things happen when people post anonymously” as a reason to basically outlaw anonymously created/posted nsfw content. Humans are capable of a lot more crimes than just sexual ones though. Hate speech, terrorism… take your pick.

Once you’ve got a piece of legislation like SISEA and the necessary infrastructure to enforce it, wouldn’t it just make sense to apply the same “bad things happen when people post anonymously“ logic to other areas than just the evil sex biz?

Afterall, if you’d force people to register social media accounts under their real name, it would be so much easier to persecute copyright infringement… hate speech… political activism…

Look at China and its massive online censorship as well as its social credit system. Government imposed digital surveillance is not a fatalistic thought experiment, it is not mere paranoia. Technologically, humanity has all the elements needed to put 1984 into action and China is going ahead with full steam.

We’re lucky that the average western constitution has safeguards against giving the government this much power. However, that really only means our governments have to make the transition slowly instead of all at once. You cannot immediately make it illegal to post anonymously but sex workers are a good start. Let’s pretend we have an allowance tax bracket with a 70% tax on money received after a certain point. To keep things simple, we’ll make the limit $90.

If a kid does chores and earns $10 in allowance, they get $10. They’re not going to be affected by the 70% tax.

If a kid does chores and earns $50, they get $50. They also aren’t in the 70% tax bracket, even though they make five times as much money as the kid making $10.

If a kid does chores and earns $100 in allowance, then they’re in the allowance tax bracket with the 70% tax.

$100 minus $90 is $10. This is the part that’s going to be taxed 70%.

70% of $10 is $7.

So the kid getting $100 in allowance will have $93 after the 70% tax takes its share.

Now, I’d never impose such a thing on actual kids. All of this is a thought exercise.
