You realize there is an AppleSearch on your iOS device right?
You realize there is an AppleSearch on your iOS device right?
Written by: Tyler Hackbart Those are two words you would have never thought to be hearing together, Apple and Search. Apple the company who broke from the biggest search business, Google; due to conflicts of interest has slowly created services of their own. Now you all know the usually services that come to mind, Maps; being the biggest of them all. But would you have ever thought that search…

Piece of Code
In the last couple days I was creating a slide down like function like the notification slide down on iOS for an information piece to pull down to reveal information. I decided this sort of design for the application because creating a whole other view for a bit of information sounded very wasteful. Also it is an action that is practically baked inside iOS, so its familiar to the user.Â
Breaking it down inside Swift, to be able to do a slide down like function takes UIDynamicAnimator, UICollisionBehavior, UISnapBehavior, UIDynamicItemBehavior and UIGavityBehavior and oh can’t forget the action on the screen that initializes everything, the UIPanGestureRecognizer
I created this under a subview and added into the view so that I have the available to use it in multiple places in my app and have information conditioned inside the view based on which superview I am on. This also allows me to take just two files and add them to another project if I wish.Â
#OpenSourceÂ
I have also started a list of frameworks that I find that I would like to use or programming languages that appeal to me. I have known about D3.js for quite sometime, but I haven’t had the ability to use since it is for large data projects that allow you to display data in a unique and different way. I have written into a plan for one of the applications that show information about your community. I have’t broke down all the points of interest for the application but I know for sure that D3.js will be inside it, showing the data of populations, parks, housing cost, property taxes and for forth in a unique way. Check it out some examples

The iMac Stays the Most Pro for Now
The iMac Stays the Most Pro for Now
Written by Tyler Hackbart Prologue Apple has had their Fall Macintosh Event. Not much happened except a shift in what the MacBook represents and what the future holds. For right now, in the world where USB C has not yet taken over, the iMac is the most Pro version for a computer, too bad its not portable. (more…)

8 min piece of code - #004
Time.now = 10:20pm
There is a huge shift happening in the world of Ruby on Rails. The once to go programming language has been replaced by a all javascript brother, Node.js. Actually in the family of programming languages, I think Ruby would be the cool uncle to the younger, easy go nephew.Â

Struggling with a programming problem is one of the worst things if it extends into hours an hours. There is a difference between trying to find a solution to a problem and just trying from every side to figure out a problem that is occurring to eventually feeling like giving up.
But that is why stack overflow was created.
ApplePay - 2 Words: Universal and Easy
ApplePay – 2 Words: Universal and Easy
Prologue: ApplePay is celebrating its 3rd year of service this fall and it has taken a while for ApplePay to be incorporated, but in the last year it have grown with new countries and new capabilities. But ApplePay with the iPhone was only the beginning, there is a lot of flashing lights for what is next. (more…)

8min Piece of Code - #002
This is a new post that I am starting, that one day I hope to turn into either a podcast or even maybe a video podcast. This will be a 8 minutes of just me typing to a timer on the clock about programming.
8:25(Time.now)
So today was a hard programming day. It was filled with figuring out a problem that is a bug inside Safari. It sadly can not be fixed, and there is no work around at this time. In other news, a local company called Boltmade was purchased by Shopify for their Shopify Plus servers. And I could not be more happy for this. The company has created some amazing products over the years and with Shopify moving into the town, it didn’t take long for companies locally getting inquired.Â
After a long day, all I want to do is write some code of my own projects that are going on right now. There is a lot of going on with projects. So as much time as I can, I should be coding. There is so many resources that you can reference to learn. I have been trying really hard to learn more and more about frameworks and API’s inside Swift and Xcode for iOS, but there are so many. And this year there is new ones too. SiriKit is really important for the future of voice commanding technology. But I am also pretty excited with MapKit, which I think is also a pretty amazing.
Apple Fall Keynote Part 1, Two Piece
Apple Fall Keynote Part 1, Two Piece
Prologue: Last year with the introduction of the iPhone 6s there was also a bunch of new products displayed at that Keynote. Apple revealed the new iPad Pro, new AppleTV and upgraded colours and bands for the AppleWatch. But that was a lot for one event and since this year was a flag ship new model iPhone, there was just no room for a big display of new products. If you had the time to sit down…

8min Piece of Code - #001
This is a new post that I am starting, that one day I hope to turn into either a podcast or even maybe a video podcast. This will be a 8 minutes of just me typing to a timer on the clock about programming.Â
9:41 (Time.now)
I am celebrating my first year as a web developer and I could not be any more happy to where I am. I am so glad that I was able tops through the hard and work as a developer in the field of technology. My current job isn’t the best for what I really want to do, but it does keep me learning and that’s what matters at the beginning.
If any of you are considering programming or any type of new thing, I would recommend maybe looking into some programming courses. They might seem kinda over the top, but between trying to remember all the interesting things, learning to problem solve and being able to create something from nothing is just all around so fulfilling. And you can do it on the side, do it full time. It is really all up to you.Â
I started small and designed lots of interfaces, but I really wanted to create them with code, deep down, the user interaction is so much more appealing to me than the user interface just looking good. Don’t get me wrong, if someone designs the look to be something that is overall crap, that doesn’t mean the user interaction will even out the UX design. The overall design is important and together they must all work together. Especially when you have a complicated system that needs to be easier to use.Â
Design. Code. Revise. Re-Code.

Kicking Apple Continuity to Level 2
Kicking Apple Continuity to Level 2
Written by Tyler Hackbart Prologue: Apple brought out continuity throughout their iWork suite of productivity application a couple years ago. With the introduction of iCloud, the abilities have grown, every year adding a new ability to the cross device experience. However with all these additions, there also needs to be products added to the list, and with iOS 10, macOS Sierra and watchOS 3 this…

iPad Pro - Increasing Growth by going ProÂ
iPad Pro – Increasing Growth by going ProÂ
Written by Tyler Hackbart Prologue: The iPad has been on the market for a couple of years now. It road the wave of the iPhone success back in 2010 and had ground breaking sales as the industry pushed into the Post-PC world. After years of success, the slow down started to settle into the line of tablets from not just Apple but the rest of the world. As tablets move from consumerism into…

Ty’s Tuesday Tech Teach - Changing Styles Based on States
In CSS, you are able to give a state colour, change in any sort of way when the user has interacted with an object. The most commonly used state is the :hover state which will be applied when a user hovers over an element with a mouse. Hover states are not active on a touch screen service like an iPad or smartphone. :active is applied when an element is being activated by a user. This is commonly referred to as a light switch, where a light switch can have an on and off position, an object like a button can have an active state when it is turned on with a click or drag. And last but not least :focus, which is when an element has the ability to focus. This could be a button which is a click to another page. It could be a form that adds a red border if you press on it or it could be any radio button. You are able to see all the :focus elements on the page if you just press ‘tab’ this will jump through all the :focus enabled elements on the page.
Additional there are two other states that I should mention, :link and :visited. :link allows you to set styles for links that have yet not been pressed by the end user. :visited on the other hand is for when the user has pressed on the link.Â
Ty’s Tuesday Tech Teach - Event Flow in JS
Inside you webpage when you have an event handler on a specific link, you will also be hovering or clicking on its parent elements.Â
This might seem like an obvious statement that I just said, but if you think about it more clearly, there is a reason why you should remember that when you are constructing anything. Whenever there is a listener, everything around can be effected. Most actions are based on a specific a tag or click of some object on the page. But what if you have an action on all the ‘p’ tags inside a section that if you clicked on them, they send you to a more in-depth page about the specific topic, but inside that block you had a link. Two event actions.... which gets shot first.Â
There are two types of flows: Event Bubbling (Which is default on most browsers) and Event Capturing.Â
