Well hello to my fellow writers and artists! Let's share stories!
I'm Tynithia. Writer, Auntie, and D&D player. I enjoy weaving original stories and characters within the Forgotten Realms and the Baldur's Gate 'verses. I mostly focus on the pre-canon and very post-canon. I adore Gale, so I thought it would be fun to create the history of the Dekarios Family going all the way back to 1044 DR.
All my stories are loosely connected around my main character 'Ellandra.' A feisty, four hundred year old sun elf from Luskan. But here is the twist, she is the widow of Gaius Dekarios, Gale's great-grandfather. It makes it a fun dynamic to explore!
Here is my Dekarios Family Collection:
Cutlass Tavern - While drowning her sorrows, at the famous Cutlass Tavern, Ellandra runs into a mysterious elf sailor. After a one-night fling, the next day she gets attacked by a dragon on the street. Thinking it had to do with her failed mission into the Host Tower, she seeks help from her former battle companion Gaius Dekarios. From there they head to Waterdeep for seek answers. (Novella - Circa 1379 DR - Rated E) The Promise - Gale only knew the Dekarios family’s history through old journals and family lore. But as a kid, his favorite journals were those written by his great-grandfather Gaius, a powerful war mage and member of the mysterious Arcane Brotherhood. Gale would stay up late, lost in his great-grandfather’s poetic words about the Weave, his epic battles, and adventures. But his favorite part of the journals were stories about the love of Gaius’s life, a beautiful sun elf named Ellandra. When he discovered that his former traveling companion was the same elf from his great-grandfather’s journal, he told her wanted to know everything. (Original novella! - Starts in 1495 DR, but goes back to 1380 DR through the Spellplague back to the present - Rate R) Krakens - Side story from The Promise - Ellandra and Gaius Dekarios attempt to cure his five year old son’s fear of deep water. (One Shot - Circa 1381 DR - Rated G)
Forever - Side story from The Promise - Allora Frost reflects back on her sweet relationship with Griffin Dekarios, before they enjoy their wedding night. A couple of nervous virgins being adorable. (Allora and Griffin are Gale's grandparents.) (Circa 1394 DR - Rated R)
The Matriarch - After witnessing the abduction of her son and grandmother, Morena Dekarios realizes she cannot rely on conventional assistance and takes matters into her own hands. She sets out to rally an intricate web of allies, rivals, and old friends to locate her loved ones.
The story chronicles Morena’s evolution from a precocious child into a formidable power player, proving that when a Dekarios makes up their mind, woe betide anyone who tries to stop them. Here is Morena’s story… (Original novella! - Starts in 1492 DR, but goes back to 1425 DR through the Waterdeep Heist, Death Masks and to the present - Rate R) Just Like his Father - Morena Dekarios receives a bouquet of flowers from her husband for their anniversary, sparking happy memories of their chance meeting in a bookstore and how his romantic gestures melted her stoic heart. (One Shot - Circa 1449 DR - Rated T) Until Today - Ellandra notices Gale is lost in his own thoughts. She had seen this long stare before and knew it well. She decides instead of leaving him alone, she would help him through the dark, by listening and making him laugh. (One Shot - Circa 1492 DR - During BG3 Act 1 - Rated T) Welcome Home - After returning from their journey, Ellandra and her great-grandson, Gale, spend the day together in Waterdeep. Gale gives her a tour of his favorite places around town, while Ellandra fills him in on the Dekarios family’s history with the city. For years, they shared everything, their dreams, their goals, and even a home. But when the resurrected Mystra sought Gale to become one of her Chosen, his ambition proved stronger than his love. Gale left Saera behind.
Fifteen years later, Gale and Saera find themselves teaching at the very school where they first fell in love. As they navigate the awkwardness of their shared history, they realize their deep emotional connection remains. Now on the cusp of forty, they are no longer the impulsive students they once were; they must decide if their bond is strong enough to survive old wounds, lingering ambitions, and the daunting work of building a second chance. A Night Ashore Before Balduran became a legend, a dragon rider, and the founder of Baldur's Gate, he was a ship's Captain.
