According to The Dragon's Image:

Regarding the Diasomnia insignia. Malleus says:

"It depicts the dragon from that the Thorn Fairy supposedly transformed into"

"They say her conflagrant breath was potents enough to burn down stone bridges."

According to The Thorn Fairy's Crow:

According to A Different Perspective:

Malleus wants to research the gargoyles in the Thorn Fairy's castle by reading in the school library.

According to Across a Century:

Malleus was told "the Thorn Fairy enjoyed telling fairy tales."

"She once regaled a guest with a tale of lovers bound toogether across a century."

(Sebek "often entreats (Malleus) for anecdotes of the past." / And "has the highest praise for all of them, no matter what they're about." / Leading Malleus to muse if "Perhaps I have a knack for storytellng...")

According to Leagues Beyond:

Sebek expresses his belief that Malleus is "bound to eclipse even the Thorn Fairy herself one day!"

Malleus disagrees.

"The Thorn Fairy is said to have been the most powerful of the Geat Seven by far." Malleus says "I can't even hold a candle to my grandmother yet. The Queen is leagues beyond me."

According to Perfect Decorum:

"They say that when the Thorn Fairy wasn't invited to a party..."

"She still maintained perfect decorum despite her offense."

(Said in context of Malleus not getting notice for the housewarden meeting and Lilia telling him not to "sulk" and to "learn from her".

To which Malleus replies to not "patronize" him, and that he "knows these things. Really.")

According to Alongside Me:

Malleus and Jade speak of how "The Sorcerer of the Sands once located an individual-- a "diamond in the rough.""

"And he even scouted the man personally." Jade says "Maybe that's how one finds good talent."

Malleus remarks on how "The Gargoyle Studies Club gets no applicants" and considers reaching out to any "promising individuals" he sees in person.

He'd prefer people who would "appreciate and study gargoyles alongside (him)"

According to Hide-and-Seek:

"It seems the Fairest Queen had a hidden chamber in her castle basement."

Jade asks if Malleus' castle in Briar Valley has any secret rooms.

Malleus "actually searched the castle as a child, hoping to find one."

Malleus says "Eventually I discovered a place I'd never seen before and hid myself there."

Malleus found amusement in seeing his retainers "running around frantically searching" for him.

Though Lilia found him in no time once "drawn into the commotion".

Turns out Malleus' mother always used to hide there when playing hide and seek.

I've noticed that quite a few times characters will mention the main disney protags but as if they are simply a footnote in history in comparison to the seven but it still seems like their stories played out to fruition (ie. the little mermaid is referenced often with her marrying the sunshine lands prince and that she has a movie based on her in book 3 or even the princess from the scalding sands with the original crpet that kalim mentions in book 4) it mostly made me curious as to what really happened to their stories because so may people sum it up as "the villains won" but it doesn't quite seem like that aside from my yapping i'm mostly curious about how you think the stories of our disney heroes affect the world of our own twisted villains (feel free to ignore me if you've answered a similar ask before :))

It's NOT the case that Twisted Wonderland is a world where "the villains won" even though many fans present it that way (and even the game's prologue itself welcomes you "to the villains' world"). I think that's just a very common misconception for a casual fan who doesn't delve into the lore or someone who sees Twst at only a glance.

This is a topic I've discussed at length in posts like this and this. Please read those if you're interested. To very (very) quickly summarize:

Twisted Wonderland is a world where the Disney villains’ actions are twisted or framed as good.

The Disney heroes’ actions/stories are NOT erased or cut off early.

The Disney heroes’ actions/stories are also NOT villainized or otherwise cast in a bad light.

The (rewritten) Disney villains’ stories and the Disney heroes’ stories exist simultaneously. They are all either treated as important historical figures and/or pop culture icons in some way, shape, or form.

Some Disney films have diverged into several pieces or Twst lore or history, with each being treated as an independent tale rather than all being parts of the same larger tale. For example, Aladdin became at least 3 different stories (please see the linked posts for more details on this).

I’d also like to add that Disney heroes + villains outside of the Great Seven aren’t just “footnote(s) in history”. Certainly, the Great Seven are the most discussed figures, but that’s mostly because NRC, the place where we spend the majority of the story in, is modeled after them and its students will naturally look up to them as a result. Other Disney villains are important figures depending on the region or race. For example, the City of Flowers’/Fleur City’s Righteous Judge (Frollo) is taught in the second year magic history curriculum. Jack Skellington is revered as the King of Halloween in a small rural Halloween-loving town before the holiday became more widespread. Just think of it like how you’d know your country’s historical figures well because they’re talked about the most, but probably wouldn’t know much about important historical figures from a country halfway across the world from you.

The Disney heroes are also extremely important figures in Twisted Wonderland’s history. One example I immediately think of is the mermaid princess (Ariel). It’s not that she’s ONLY known for marrying a human prince from the Sunshine Lands. The mermaid princess’s marriage greatly improved the then shaky relations between humans and merfolk. Furthermore, she would go on to establish several programs to expedite cultural exchange between the two groups. This includes a land boot camp and a governmental service which distributes transformation potions to merfolk interested in working and/or studying on the surface world. These are all resources that the Octatrio made use of to enhance their knowledge of the land. The mermaid princess has had a massive impact on her kind; she is NOT a “footnote”, even if she is talked about less.

The Platinum Jacket card series features both Disney villains and heroes being spoken about in the context of history. You can see the boys speaking about the events those characters were involved in. There’s also scattered confirmation (usually in hometown events) that these figures inspire fashion and media, so they definitely continue to impact Twisted Wonderland to this day. They influence holidays, regional cuisines, and more.

Riddle – OFF WITH YOUR HEAD (Lit. Behead Them)

ABILITY: Summons a collar around the target’s neck and seals their magic.

INCANTATION: I’ll hand down my sentence. The verdict comes afterwards. Are you ready? Off With Your Head!

Epel – SLEEP KISS (Lit. Crimson Fruit)

ABILITY: Places target in glass coffin and puts them to sleep.

ABILITY: Allows the caster to jump into other people’s dreams. Only can be used while asleep. Cannot choose the dream that is jumped to. The dreamer is indicated by a white bird-like wisp.

INCANTATION: To the one I’ve met before, to the one I’ve yet to meet. Meet in a Dream.

Sebek – LIVING BOLT (Lit. Flash of Lightning)

ABILITY: His body becomes lightning, which allows him to move and strike like one.

Lilia – FAR CRY CRADLE (Lit. To the Furthest Cradle)

ABILITY: Allows the caster to play back the memory of an “object” for a short time.

INCANTATION: All is as if it were days long past. No matter where it takes us, it will all be over in the blink of an eye. Far Cry Cradle.

Rollo – DARK FIRE (Lit. Burning Desire)

ABILITY: His body is wrapped in flames that he can manipulate at will. The more his foes are afraid, confused, or frustrated, the stronger his flames.

Queen of Hearts:

"She was a queen who lived in a mazelike garden of roses long, long ago."

"She was a strict woman who prized order above all. She wouldn't tolerate a rose being off-color, or her playing-cards soldiers being out of step."

"She basically ruled over a kingdom of madness, but not one of her subjects dared to defy her."

"Because the punishment for breaking a rule was immediate decapitation!"

King of Beasts:

“Ruled the savanna”

"He wasn't born into the throne- he had to earn it through hard work and elaborate schemes."

Like, what’s the deal with that? Also, if you’re not going to add in the lighter palms, then why add it to that one sprite at all? That just makes things confusing
