would anyone want to be a beta reader for my Twisted Wonderland fic? i need more moots to yap to fr (though be aware there are some serious violence TWs)
TWST AU where Yuu seems to have accidentally time traveled back to the start of their first year at NRC, except they quickly switch to thinking they must be in some kind of alternate universe because everyone is being so nice and comparatively well-adjusted? Even Grim! Ace just shows them around the school grounds and Deuce arrives of his own volition to introduce himself, Jack shows up at Ramshackle house like I heard someone was staying here so I brought food, two minutes later Epel arrives with extra bedding from the Pomefiore dorms, Sebek is like hello if you have any troubles I will assist, Ortho gifts them a phone right away like welcome to school I took the liberty of adding me and my brother to your contacts, it's wild.
Anyway, turns out the other freshmen also just time traveled. Everyone has it figured out by the time Ace doesn't trigger Riddle's overblot (it's still impending but Ace is NOT doing the tart thing again), but for the first couple of days it's a comedy of misunderstandings, with each of them thinking they've somehow butterfly effected events into changing right out of the gate.

I dunno. a picture of a quarter. and they respond with a drawing of a random OC of theirs in a bunny onesie

AO3 has recently seen a rise in guest spambot comments making false accusations about work creators or other users. For example, they may claim that a particular user is discriminating against minorities, trying to hide the fact that they use AI, or are at risk of having their works stolen or deleted.
These comments often copy existing AO3 usernames in order to make their accusations seem more legitimate. They may also try to lure people onto other platforms (similar to the art commission scam), or use fake links that actually lead to pornographic images.
As always, we recommend that you do not click on any suspicious links or give your contact information to scammers. Instead, simply mark the comments as spam or report them so that the Policy & Abuse committee can remove comments left by these spambots.
Learn how to recognize them and what to do below the cut!
How to recognize this kind of spam:
The comments come from guests, not logged-in users.
The comments may start with praise for you and your writing, trying to lull you into a false sense of security. Or they may claim that you are a bad writer, trying to make you too upset to realize that the comments are fake.
The comments may accuse you or another user of promoting discriminatory beliefs, deceiving fans, or similar behaviors that might cause other people to shun or harass the accused individual. They may claim that they checked social media to find that the accused user is "brazenly sharing hateful content" or "bragging about using AI".
The comments are often pleading or angry, asking you to "stop lying to your readers", "don't remove the AI prompts from your work", or suggesting that you "consider adding more diverse characters" to "repair the trust you've lost with your audience".
So far, these comments have all been from guests. Our advice is to flag them as spam to better filter them out.
To help train our automated spam-checker to block similar guest comments in the future:
If the comment is on your own work:
Go directly to the comment on your work, either by clicking on the link in your email or in your AO3 inbox.
Click on the "Spam" button to mark the guest comment as spam and remove it from your work.
Note: The "Spam" button only appears when viewing a guest comment directly on your work. This is because the AO3 comment inbox is merely a copy of the work's comments – deleting a comment from your AO3 inbox does not delete the comment from the work itself.
If you see comments like these on someone else's work:
Feel free to let the creator know the comment is from a bot, and that they should mark it as spam.
You can also report the comments as botspam via the Policy Questions & Abuse Reports form linked at the bottom of every page on AO3.
If you are reporting multiple guest comments, please submit only one report, and include all comment links in your report description. (You can get the direct link to any comment by clicking the "Thread" button on the comment, and then copying the URL of that page.)
As of December 2025, bots have also left guest comments harassing users by:
threatening to report you/your fic to the authorities or your employers
alleging security concerns like your email being compromised or spyware on your computer
claiming that they know your address and are going to visit you at your house
saying that you will die alone and unemployed over the holidays
What these bots claim is not true. These accusations do not mean your work will be deleted or that your accounts are insecure. We recommend that you mark these comments as spam following the instructions in our previous post.
These examples also do not represent the full range of harassment comments that you may receive. We will continue to try and keep you updated about trends; however, please note that the exact wording the bots use will continue to evolve.
If you're not sure if something is a spambot comment, you're welcome to contact Policy & Abuse for assistance. Refer to the original post for more information!
The people want a rewrite of the alligator encounter, and I will finally deliver! Just uh,, be Aware that this Sebek likes humans. More than most would appreciate.
CW: Yandere, reader is Yuu, reader has a pre-existing crush on Sebek, creepy behavior(!), attempted kiss, mild suggestiveness, canon-typical Sebek slander, you and Sebek jump his counterpart at the end
See You Later, Alligator (pt.1)
You swore today was going to be a normal day when you woke up.
Everything had been going so well this morning. Grim's usual morning grumbling had been quieted with a tuna breakfast, your hair had been behaving well when you were getting ready, you were even running a bit ahead of schedule. You should have known not to trust it.
Now, here you were, standing at the foot of the stairs and staring down a very surprised-looking, and sorely unannounced, Sebek. Strangest of all, he looked like he hadn't finished getting dressed, with his hair left down, all the dorm signifiers other than his magestone missing, no tie, and his shirt partially unbuttoned. You could only blink at him, not expecting to bear witness to an exposed chest before your Leona encounter for the day. And, more than that, you had thought Sebek to be the type of prude who would be scandalized by someone glimpsing his ankles, so full-on collarbone was a bit of a jumpscare.
“Sebek. What are you doing half-dressed in my house?” you asked, genuine bewilderment clear in your tone.
He quickly broke eye contact with you, standing up straight with his arms behind his back, “Ah- Prefect, I hadn't expected you to be home.” You couldn't marvel at his appropriate indoor volume for very long, as you were mentally running through all the reasons he could possibly have for showing up like this, until you landed on the most likely one.
“This is one of those 'observing me for Malleus' things again, isn't it?” you crossed your arms and kept your voice firm, “I don't care how much you've been doing it lately, that doesn't mean you can just barge in without knocking. Or getting fully dressed.”
At first, he didn't respond at all, simply staring at you as if he were processing his response. Then, strangely, he smiled ever so slightly before slicking his hair back into a facsimile of the typical gel-laden style you'd come to expect, buttoning his shirt up, and standing straight with his arms behind his back. He sounded oddly bashful as he spoke, "Forgive me, Prefect… I'd thought we were on the same page."
“… Same page on what, exactly?”
"I had thought we'd gotten accustomed to each other," he said, as if that didn't fly in the face of every interaction you'd previously had with him.
With a slight tilt of the head, you began to puzzle over this bizarre conversation, searching through your mind to find something that would get him to show the usual personality you had, unfortunately, been drawn to. He was fun to tease or fluster, and a slight ribbing wouldn't get him particularly bent out of shape compared to deliberately provoking him, so you tried your hand, "I dunno, I just… thought it was cuter when you tried so hard to be proper."
Almost in cartoon fashion, you braced with a suppressed smile for the inevitable blustering that would come from such a grievous "transgression" and overstep in your position as a human, only to receive a dulcet, almost flattered "Oh? Me?"
…
What?
It was outright unnerving, this random jump to a softer Sebek. It was so suddenly idyllic that you started wondering if your morning alarm would go off, or if he would begin trying to convince you to let him sew buttons into your eyes or something of that nature. Sure, you had hoped to reach some semblance of mutual patience eventually, but… not now. Not for a long time. It was reserved for your unattainable, distant daydreams as a reward, and not even to this degree. It felt markedly hollow. Undeserved.
Suspicious.
This was far from the Sebek you knew, and something told you that it was very, very wrong. The blatant, visible consideration of every word that left his lips robbed him of the genuine, blunt quality that shined so brightly in your beloved crocodile. So, you decided to test him. Was the boy before you truly some strange, clueless imitator?
Despite the evident danger of that possibility, you knew you had to say something. So, in the simplest of terms, you feigned innocent concern and asked, "Hey, are you feeling all right? You're acting different."
He blinked, his gaze flickering away for just a moment as his easy smile strained ever so slightly, "I hadn't been feeling well back at my dorm. It was only natural that I come see you to remedy my spirits. Is something in particular not to your standard?" the Potentially-Not-Sebek pried.
Not trusting how he was constantly adjusting his appearance and behavior to your specification, you decided to finally put that test in order. Acting as out of character as you could, you shyly shrank into yourself, hands clasped in front of you with a pouting puppy dog face and batting lashes. You filled your voice with fake dejection and looked up at him, sadly saying "I didn't get any morning kisses…"
His brows raised, and your skin crawled as those yellow-green eyes trailed up and down your frame. You felt desperate for a shower after that, with the door nailed shut and the curtain closed. "Oh, Prefect… Forgive me," he stepped closer, speaking like the protagonist in some sleazy romance novel, "I've been ever so forgetful lately.~"
You couldn't keep your expression up as he leaned closer, but more than even his behavior, his appearance gave you pause. More specifically, the flaws in the eyes and ears. The stranger in front of you had small, rounded pupils and ears that tapered off to sharp points at the ends. Whoever was trying to impersonate Sebek was certainly doing a terrible job of it. The gravity of your words hit you once his arms reached out to circle around your waist. Leaning away from him, it slowly dawned on you that, over the course of this entire, bizarre encounter, not once had he called you-
"HUMAN!!" called a voice from outside Ramshackle Dorm.
All movement stopped cold. Never in your life, before meeting Sebek, had you imagined that someone shouting at the top of their lungs would bring you such relief. Your crocodile hadn't suddenly turned into some sleazeball devoid of all his charming knightly qualities! But, with one question answered, another, more dire inquiry, was posed.
You slowly turned your head to face the intruder, keeping your voice as steady as you could, "So, if that's Sebek… who the HELL are you?"
Entirely too close for comfort, he simply blinked as he looked between the source of the call and you. "Prefect," he said, with the smallest, guiltiest laugh known to man, "I-I can explain-"
"Bullshit! Explain THIS!" you yelled, taking advantage of the proximity to raise your leg and stomped as hard as you could on his shoe. All he could do was yelp in pain before receiving an open-palm strike to the nose, causing his hands to be too occupied with covering his face to retaliate while you ran off down the hall, yelling, "SEBEK!! IT'S OPEN, GET THIS GUY OFF ME!"
Distantly, you could hear the door swing open, accompanied by the sound of something scraping against the floor. You rounded the corner with quite a lead, seeing the fully-dressed and reassuring visage of what was definitely your Sebek. His eyes widened as he finally laid eyes on you, and on the one behind you.
Knights, particularly of the royal guard variety, are often akin to guard dogs. He was told to sic, and only saw two things, someone that was you and someone that was not you. That second someone received a flying wooden chair straight to the dome. Not-Sebek was in a heap on the floor in two seconds, next to one of your chairs from further down the hall.
“HUMAN!! Are you all right?!” Sebek cried as you hid behind him.
