I have a genuine question and i want to hear other people’s opinions about it (be respectful about it please) but are we, the internet, seriously going to accept the harassment of content creators because some people don’t agree with what they do? Or they find a specific joke/clip, take it out of context and all of a sudden they are called ‘problematic’ and they get death threats and they leave all social media.

Like are you telling me that you have NEVER made a racist joke amongst friends? Are you seriously telling me that you’re a saint, and have never made a singular mistake that affected or hurt others, no matter how big, in your life?

Now obviously there are some people that try to justify, or make their actions seem smaller and less significant than they actually are, or victimise themselves, and yeah, sure, those guys we can call problematic, but there are creators who have apologized, saw and owned up to their own mistakes, tried to improve, got professional help because they understood that their own behavior was wrong and hurt the people around them.

So why are so many people on the internet so obsessed with doxxing people and sending them death threats? I don’t understand?

The hypocrisy is insane to me. I refuse to believe that every person that has ever sent a death threat to a ‘problematic’ person is a ‘good person’ and has never done something to hurt others in their life, like seriously, YOU SENT SOMEONE A DEATH THREAT?? HELLO?? Must i spell it out for you??

I am very sorry for posting and ranting about such a sensitive topic, but I seriously think it has to be discussed.

I understand that this is not always the case, but i’ve seen my own fair share of creators who people all of a sudden disliked or got harassed pff the internet because they were ‘problematic’, even though i myself (so a completely PERSONAL opinion on what I MYSELF consider to be a ‘big’ or ‘drastic’ mistake) did not consider them to be too bad, or just a very difficult discussion in morality and responsibility.

Everyone is allowed to share their own opinions and thoughts about this so long as it is respectful.
