For those unfamiliar with the format, we’re looking to date and preserve the iconic, noteworthy, and most hilarious posts about twewy across this site’s history!

The main criterion? Posts have to predate 2019 (we may make exceptions for more recent but undeniably iconic posts). Anything else goes but the moderator maintains the right to decline any post on the arbitrary curation criteria that may or may not exist at any given moment in their head.

My advice? If you think something’s worth submitting, submit it! The moderator has a long backlog of posts pre-2015 they’re eager to give a spotlight again, especially. 

I’ve tried to search for some in the past, but the only ones I managed to find were ones on Pixiv.

The main source I know of is the now-defunct twewydoujins account on here. Everything that account hosted should be available if you search for http://twewydoujins.tumblr.com on the Wayback Machine and click through the different instances of the URL that are captured there.

Some of the doujin in that thread had the translations hosted on twewydoujins. Noise Speaker is the one I was most interested in from that thread, but I've never found any scans of it. OP had shared photos, but that link no longer works unfortunately.

it's weird to try and describe, but it's a bunch of really fucked up edits of the twewy characters portraits on a blank background surrounded by ms paint scribbles and text of increasing intensity. there's one talking about neku being a "poor role model for girls of an impressionable age" and one with his sprite repeating that says "i'm stacking the nekus I'm stacking them" or something like that. I believe it was posted sometime 2012-2015, and I think the caption was the OP saying they made the images while coming off anesthesia or on too much medication or something?

You would not believe how much I was freaking out because someone (me) apparently hadn't bookmarked or otherwise saved the sources of all the TWEWY icons I pulled during my LiveJournal spelunking days back in '21 (the icon for this blog coming from those adventures). Terrible form for an archivist, I assure you. Truly embarrassing for me.

BUT! All this to say I have successfully found the source once again, courtesy of zilleniose on LiveJournal all the way back in 2008. If memory serves, they were a prolific artist in the community on here as well back in the day. The username certainly looks familiar to me, at any rate.

We weren't personally around for the earlier era of TWEWY's fanbase on here (and in fact, only began our research into that time around 2021), so this perspective isn't from someone with firsthand knowledge of the fanbase back then.

We do have a list of blogs we went through around that time! You can see some of the main sources (people with robust TWEWY tags on their blogs, who were frequent faces in reblog chains) by looking at what blogs we've reblogged from.

That being said, Shad's (@/konpozaa-blog) one person who we heavily associate with the early fanbase days, doubly so since an analysis thread of theirs (regarding localization changes to the Udagawa CAT mural) is what kicked off this whole endeavor in the first place! So, we would say they're a significant figurehead from those early days.
