Where The Smackdown Is In Your Mouth!

While the Young Bucks are one of my favorite tag teams in wrestling right now, Roderick Strong is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite wrestlers. 

I was fine when I walked into the building and fine when I walked into the area where the show was being held but as soon as I saw Roddy, I literally started to shake so hard that erisbakes thought I was about to faint.

I have never done that before. I have never started to shake as soon as I saw one of my favorites. That’s how much wrestling and Roddy mean to me.

J and I got in line for the Bucks thinking it was for them and Roddy. Well J and I had made signs for Roddy, the Bucks, Cedric Alexander, and the ¡Revolt! and J pulled Roddy’s out and showed him while we were standing in line and he grinned and gave us a thumbs up.

Once we realized that the line was for the Bucks and not them and Roddy, we moved over to Roddy. When I got up to him I told him that he was one of my absolute favorites and that I was literally shaking because of getting to meet him.

Roddy smiled and said, “Aww you just made my day, thank you.”

I then brought up the cupcakes saying he might remember them and he said, “I do!” which made me happy. We had brought him some of his cupcakes as well as some thumb wrestling masks for him and his nephews and niece that we know he loves so much.

He thanked us and told us he was gonna save them for after his match. We got him to sign all of his designs as well as a card for my mom and her fiance who were at home taking care of grandma who just had cancer surgery, plus our tickets.

I then got a picture with him and I asked for a hug to which he responded, “Of course!” and gave me a really nice hug :) I then told him about having fibro and hurting a lot everyday but when I get to watch him wrestle I feel no pain at all and he said, “Aww, thank you. You just made my day again! You’re getting me pumped up!” Next we went and got back in the Bucks’ line. Once we got up to them we told them that we had presents for them to which they were like, “Whoa, what?”

We had brought them each a box of their own cupcakes and thumb wrestling masks for them and their kids. Nick then told Matt that they were giving us a 8x10.

Which they did and signed it, “Thnx Turnbuckle Cupcakes” and they both signed it plus their designs, and the card. We had forgotten about our tickets but we got those signed a bit later.

Then as we were about to make our way to Tommaso Ciampa, I noticed out of the corner of my eye Roddy going up to J and signing the poster. We didn’t ask him to sign the poster - I had thought about it cause I would put it up on my wall but we didn’t ask. Roddy went up to her and asked to sign it.

After that well we had to get the rest of the posters signed and we did. J kept the Young Bucks Superkick Party one this time…. lol

Quick thank you to all of the wrestlers who allowed J and myself to hide at their tables or kept any eye out for us when a sleazy creepy dude who followed me for over an HOUR at the last show, was looking for me tonight and any time he caught sight of me he’d head straight for me. Thank you Aerial for keeping an eye out and having me and JulieAnn stick around you for a few moments. Thank you Zane Riley, Caleb Konley, and Moose, who allowed us to stand around their tables for a while just in case. Also thank you to Elijah Evans IV who asked if we wanted him to go talk to the guy and tell him to back off and last but not least Adam Page who took a look around the room to see if he could spot the guy. It’s nice to know that no matter what there’s guys who will have your back and watch out for you. Thank you guys so much.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGHT: Country Jacked suddenly attacking the Bravado Brothers and tying up Lancelot and then hog tying Harlem and cutting his goatee. Why is this a highlight? Because before I realized it was Country Jacked, I screamed out, “YOU ASSHOLES!” I’m still laughing over that. I also kept grumbling, “Assholes” to myself even though I love Country Jacked. Hey they had stopped a damn good match.

On that note, FINALLY getting a picture with Corey Hollis who the last two times escaped before I could get a picture. Thank you Corey for taking a picture with J and one with me.

Also on that note, Adam Page yet again being a goofball (who is always one of the highlights of getting to see plus he’s just one of my favorites to see live and meet plus one of my favorite wrestlers currently). He made a face and held my sharpie like a knife in our picture and bugged out his eyes in his picture with J. But also him saying, “just a moment” to us to go grab a headband off of the ground to use to pull his hair back into a bun. 

Finally we got a picture with Zane Riley (I’ve known the guy since 2011 and out of the handful of times I’ve been able to see him it took me this long to finally get a picture. About damn time). Also we got a picture with the ¡Revolt! which is great.

We also found four event posters in damn good condition that we obviously grabbed up as people left them behind (I wouldn’t let that shit go!).

Roddy told us the cupcakes were great. He also favorited my tweet about being unable to stop smiling and tearing up over meeting him, getting a hug and thanking him for helping me plus getting to see him win <3

The Bucks took a picture with me and one with J for free, telling us not to worry about the money.

During the show right before Roddy and Cedric’s match, myself and J held up our signs for them (obviously I was holding up Roddy’s and J had Cedric’s). Corky the announcer and the ref saw them and walked over to the side of the ring we were facing to see them better and read them and were grinning, laughing. I also accidentally blocked the camera cause I had my poster up so high. Oops.
