Honestly, a dynamic I'm surprised I don't see more of in the Nimona fandom is less specifically "Dad(s) and Daughter" and more "Older Brother Who Happens to Take Care of a Little Sister (Oh Yeah His Boyfriend’s Here, Too.)" Like some Lilo and Stitch type shit but more chaotic because there’s a shapeshifting teen involved.
Don’t get me wrong, I love me my Gay Dads AUs + all the “1000 year old daugther” jokes and whatnot. But at least with the version of Nimona we know in the movie, I doubt she does “authority figures” all too well. And she’s been around for literally longer than anyone in the kingdom. You try to parent her, and it’s probably gonna backfire.
But with an older sibling/younger sibling dynamic it’s more casual. It has that room for Bal to be caring like we see in the movie, but it’s less… idk, hierarchal(?) than a typical dad-daughter relationship.

Not sure how well known it is, but spiders usually sleep on their "bellies" with their legs tucked in around them. Apparently there was a study done on sleep patterns & behaviors of some spiders and it was found spider legs will twitch like other animals do when dreaming. Occassionally a spider would get "startled" awake, splaying its legs out like a star-burst or asterisk.
Since I started to draw Kar'niss I learned a lot about spiders... But that is the cutest thing ever. They startled awake? awww poor babies! Now imagine that with a 3 meter drider...
