You can explain the same concept or person or idea in a million ways, with altered lingo, and each individual will ultimately react differently depending on what labels they personally resonate with, even though you can be depicting the exact same concept or idea. What provides true lasting happiness? It seems most of humanity is on a constant chase for happiness, and we create it for ourselves through experiences we enjoy, but it seems to always fade eventually, and we stay on a constant fluctuating scale. Many of us don’t even realize we are our own root cause for discomfort, sadness, disappointment, anger, ext. But why? And how do we fix it?  Most of the time, any decline of emotional satisfaction stirs from the same source; expectations over your outer reality (people, places and things that are out of your control). If your happiness depends on your outer circumstances, disappointment is bound to appear at some point. Many Monks and Yogi’s know this, and perhaps many of us know it on some level as well. But we keep chasing a happiness that occurs from our outer experience, rather than our inner one. A very common scenario is expecting someone in your life (family, friends or partner) to live up to a certain standard you have set, and we get angry or disappointed when that person doesn’t act, talk or be what we want them to. That is a recipe for dissatisfaction. I can promise you one thing... no matter what you do, you will never be able to control the actions, thoughts or behaviors of another forever. Of course we can learn to work together as humans, to grow and become the best for one and other. But if your happiness depends on someone else, or another ‘thing’, place, or outside experience, you are now dependent on THAT.
