This LP crossed my way today, a nice original French pressing and of course there was this song (plus other favorites, 'Dandy', the hilarious and poisonous 'session man' and 'Sunny afternoon' of course). SUBLIME CINEMA #346 - BLACK RAIN

This film has been criticized for being ‘all atmosphere’, ‘a designer movie’, ‘all look, no heart’, cheating the audience out of a plausible, good story and solid characters. But it’s Ridley Scott. The movie is flat out gorgeous, evoking his previous ‘Blade Runner’ with a vision of an actual, contemporary Japan that is tantalizingly verging on the unreal. Yes, it has a kind of cheese 80′s appeal too, and shallow on the story, but it’s worthwhile, with some great cinematography by Jan de Bont.
