this wasn’t the worst the blonde had seen, but it still scared her. rebekah saw people she loved die right infront of her, unsure of why. she knew it wasn’t real, deep inside, somehow it didn’t disappear. tears ran down her cheeks as she ran away from the scenes, covered her ears to not hear the screams. she had lost her family before, not like this. despite being a vampire, she could feel her breathing become heavy, no longer in control of the thirst. the smell of blood was fresh in the air, coming closer to her. a voice near by when she moved away her hands from her ears “hope? oh thank god, you are alright. i thought you were dead” she could calm down now, a bit. without thinking, she quickly pulled her niece into a tight hug “i was worried”
🌒️ ― hope’s heart skipped at the sight of her. “auntie bex,” she sputtered, meeting the embrace wholeheartedly. feeling more than a little small in that moment. she had seen the vampire’s corpse, among many of the others, before she fled home. seeing her now made her head spin but she wasn’t going to linger on that. knowing she was just going crazy and that she wasn’t alone was, in its own way, a relief. “i’m okay. have you seen anyone else? my dad?”
