+Prodigy Witch

“It’s kind of like deja vu, isn’t it?” Bonnie commented to the original, looking over at her. “People dying, coming back to life, dying again... Feels like high school all over again.” Though Rebekah didn’t necessarily graduate with them, she probably understood what she meant. “Is Hope okay? I haven’t been able to check in on her recently.”

"So you found your way back? Good. I’m glad everyone is finding their way back from wherever the hell they ended up,” Bonnie admitted, taking a deep breath. “Can I ask... Where did you go? When death or whatever took all the dead back. Where you with everyone else or alone?”

“yeah, maybe some things happens for a reason” the hunter shrugged. the wish was still there “maybe you wouldn’t either. i know, but sometimes i wish we could go back. maybe my parents would not have died” jeremy let out a sigh “i started to think more of it after this happened”

“Your parents accident wasn’t the fault of anything supernatural. It wouldn’t change that. And I don’t think you should hope it would. It will only make you resent things even more,” Bonnie stated, shaking her head. “All of this stuff existed long before we knew about it. Some of us would have eventually fallen into it. My magic was already starting to come out before any vampires showed up into our lives.”

his head tilted a little “even if it’s only for a while?” he asked. sounded pretty sad. to drown your sorrows in something that later would make you feel bad “right. yes, celebrations to that” he nodded. eyebrows raised to her next words, he did not care to answer right away “eh. what does it matter as long as the dead are back again, hmm? whoever lost themselves to save them, probably finds their way back to themselves again” he didn’t care much about it. who it was, yeah, curious about it.

“Nothing permanently gets rid of pain. There is no spell or drug or even compulsion that could take away that sort of pain. It comes back to you eventually. Sometimes you can heal with time and a shit ton of therapy, but there can still be pain. Just not as much,” Bonnie said. Better to be honest with the kid than lie to him. She turned to him slowly when he said it didn’t matter that they had lost themselves. “Josie and Andrew don’t deserve to have to give up the good parts of themselves to bring back the dead. Now, they’re just shells of their former selves, full of only darkness. It does matter.”

As naive as to the idea that fate was giving him another chance at happiness, he could not refuse it. He had sworn that he would fight for her, to find his way back. Maybe Bonnie hadn’t been the one to directly bring him back from Limbo but he could only presume she was when he saw her in his view. It sparked hope that he thought he no longer had, that she hadn’t abandoned him and he had something still worth fighting for. The alternative of having been brought back to continue his suffering was not a thought in his might right now as he got closer to her. “You never lost me, Bonnie Bennett.” Even if those words sounded like a memory, they were very real, as was his touch when he leaned in to press his lips against hers. 

Bonnie barely looked up at Enzo’s words. She was just about to say something when he kissed her. She hadn’t been expecting it. Had being in limbo messed with his mind? Did he forgot that they weren’t together any more, that she was with Damon. When she finally could act, she pushed away from him as gently as she could. “Enzo. Enzo stop,” she said, opening her eyes and staring up at him. “Nothing has changed. I wanted to try and bring you back because I owe that to you, to show you that I still care about you even if it isn’t like that any more. That I wasn’t going to try and help you. But it wasn’t me and that doesn’t mean I want to be with you. I still love Damon.”

“what’s coming next?” jeremy said out loud, looked over to the nearest person. sometimes could he get tired of the supernatural, you never knew what would come next. he could still remember when he for the first time heard of them, everything became wild afterwards, nothing was the same anymore “we are all being sent to limbo?” was his next question, a sigh escaped his lips “i wish we could turn back time when the supernatural did not exist. would the world and life be easier then, who knows” his life had never been easy, everyone had their ups and downs, even though they never talked about it.

“Don’t even start that argument, Jer,” Bonnie stated, shaking her head. “If supernatural didn’t exist, Hope wouldn’t exist. Josie and Lizzie wouldn’t exist. People we love wouldn’t exist. You have to take the bad to get the good too,” she pointed out, downing the last of her drink. “Everything has to have balance, as much as we hate it.”

ethan sat down beside bonnie, intertwined his fingers as he placed his elbows on the bar table, frowned when he looked over at her “oooh, you think drinks solve everything for today? what’s the point, you will forget for a few hours and tomorrow all the beautiful memories are back” a chuckle escaped his throat. that was true, it would come back. he leaned over the counter and grabbed a vodka bottle he saw they had left “but if we are gonna drink, what are we celebrating? gotta be something, huh” he smiled, turned his attention back to the witch.

“It’s not to forget. More to just numb the pain for a little while,” she explained, probably being too honest with a kid from her niece’s school. But she was too burned out to care right now. Hell, the students probably needed a drink as much as she did. “Well, we could celebrate the fact that the dead came back, but considering someone I love very much lost herself to do it, I don’t feel much like celebrating.”

🌒️ ― The visions had not followed her.. from what she could tell. The warning rang in her ears and she took in that advised breath. “Back from?  Where are they?” Surely they couldn’t be dead again. There would be something, anything, to explain it. Hope had to believe that. Calming down was a tall order, but the tribrid did meet the witch halfway, eyes meeting eyes. “What do you know?” As sharp as the words came out, they weren’t accusatory. Just, impatient. To the point.

Once it seemed like Hope was calming down, Bonnie relaxed a bit. “I don’t know. People started disappearing, mostly ones who had been brought back. I tried a locator spell on some and can’t find them. And then there were the visions,” she admitted, face grim as she knew Hope had been experiencing the same thing. “But I’m not leaving them wherever they are. And I think you feel the same way.”

“Aunt Bonnie, what’s happening?” Lizzie caught sight of her sobbing uncontrollably. “What’s wrong? Make what stop?” She looked all around for something that could be the cause of her distress. She put her arms around her as if to shield her from whatever was causing the tears. 

“These visions in my head... All the death. I just want it to stop. I don’t want to see these things again. I don’t want to go through it again,” she begged, rocking herself back and forth as she squeezed her eyes shut. Her instinct was to fight the person off trying to touch her, but she resisted that, letting her niece envelop her in a hug.

🌒️ ― In every room of her home, she happened upon images of her family’s murdered bodies, strewn across every surface. Anguish and anger had broken through the visions long enough for her to flee into the streets of New Orleans. The cobbled street below began to crack and separate behind her as she ran; innocent bystanders shrieked and wowed in awe at the phenomenon. Like her, her powers were unstable, volatile, and she was only vaguely aware that she was doing it. Her feet stop, and she’s standing there, dazed in her grief. “What’s happening to me?”

Bonnie could sense the magic the minute she stepped into the building. It wasn’t hard to find where it was coming from. She stepped up to Hope, not at all fearful of the powerful tribrid. She placed her hands on the other’s arms, trying to get her to focus on her. “Hope, listen to me. This isn’t real. This is magic at work. What you’re seeing... What we’re all seeing isn’t real. It hurts, but don’t let it control you,” she told her, trying to get through to her before she accidentally did something that would bring more pain to Hope. “Breath, focus on what is real right now and we will find a way to bring them all back. But we can’t do that until you calm down.”

“Didn’t to pay for that? From what my family tells me death always follows you. Hell, they even told me to stay away from you.” she mumbled the last bit, averting her gaze to get a hold of her own mind. she needed it clear. “Even if I were to help you. I would lose something … I’m barely an adult, do you think I can handle my life changing like that?”  she could. she was stronger than she appeared to be. lia simply wanted to know what Bonnie would say.

“I did, but I don’t regret my choices from the past. I wish I had made more of them for myself than others, but I did the right thing,” she said. If she kept dwelling on all her choices and the actions that came from them, she would be stuck in a spiral of self hatred forever. “I’ve done things no witch has ever thought was possible. I have lost my magic and found it again so many times I have lost count. That is strength. Minding your own business isn’t always the right thing to do. It’s not just vampire business or werewolf business. It is all of our business,” she added, straightening and crossing her arms over her chest. “You can handle anything or learn to over time. Sometimes it is worth it to lose something. But if you aren’t brave enough or don’t think it is the right thing to do, nothing I can do about it.”

“then everything’s different. maybe, who knows” the parker witch shrugged. a brow raised to what she said about his older brother “oh? he survived, i see. a prison world? last time i heard of them was one back in 1903, didn’t believe the stories were real. i can’t understand why they decided to send him to one, they could just have tried to end his life instead, especially more so after what he did to me and his other siblings” but their father did stupid decisions, then somehow managed to get the whole coven with him, or that’s how joey had always seen it “i am not surprised he did, sorry that happened to you. did he do it for no reason?” his eyes rolled as she continued to speak “i wonder what turned him that way, if it could have been the whole coven or just father who seemed to hate him, but he barely liked any of his kids, probably olivia, lucas and josette. not me so much, i was mostly out all the time to avoid the family dramas and i didn’t turn out to be a murderous psychopath just because our parents didn’t give us enough love” he never got the chance to talk about these things, not on a long time at least. joey had his best friend, a human, who he could talk about these things with, but he was probably gone now or old “to be honest do i not think death will ever stop him, he might find a way to come back every time. i probably shouldn’t talk this much about my family to someone i do not know, it just feels normal? because you know who kai is and how he can be.” he shook his head. was probably not interesting either. who wanted to hear about a family that he thought was one of the worst families to exist in the world? 

“Well, it’s a long story, but after what Kai did, Jo helped trap him in the prison world, where he was for like twenty years. I got there through a crazy series of events with a friend and we had no idea what it was really. But lucky me, Bennett blood and magic was needed to work the ascendant to get us out. Kai threatened us to help him get out as well, but I betrayed him and got my friend out, which ended with an arrow in my stomach. Then I sent my magic away in an object out of the prison world, but he found something to siphon and stabbed me and left me there all alone. Apparently he did the merge with your brother Luke and won, but then I came back and left him in the other prison world as revenge, but he got out of there, killed Jo on her wedding day, and turned himself into a vampire which killed the entire coven. But surprise, siphoners can keep their magic when they turn. He put a spell on my best friend and almost killed me, but then he got his head chopped off, so that was cool,” Bonnie said, doing her best to fill in the blanks for him. “But he went to hell and then snuck out and caused more issues, so I made another prison world and left him there, but then he got out again and got killed again. I know, it’s crazy. I’m well aware,” she added, knowing it was hard to follow along. “Well, no offense, your family was kind of crazy and your dad was abusive, but I don’t believe that is any excuse to murder children and innocents.” Bonnie nodded at his words, knowing it could be weird, especially as witches. “Well, I’m familiar with other family members of yours. And I’m a pseudo-aunt to your nieces. Again, another crazy story.”

“mhm okay. perhaps they had a party, someone getting married? i have seen it before, people dress weird for it when they are out with their friends before the big day, just not like that” he saw it one time, didn’t matter “yes?” he questioned, arms folded over his chest “do you know of them? or perhaps you have seen the news paper from 1994, huh? if it’s still possible. do not tell me you know my older brother kai? not surprised if that asshole survived” he had always hoped jo would win the merge, but he was not hundred percent certain she would “nice to meet you, bonnie”

“Maybe. But every bachelorette party I have been a part of or seen hasn’t dressed like that. But maybe we were the weird ones,” she joked, shaking her head. “Yup. I had to live in a prison world with Kai, where he shot me with an arrow and stabbed me before he got out. Then he just constantly hurt my friends and I. Until we killed him. Several times. And put him in another prison world. Then killed him again,” Bonnie said honestly. “You too.”

“And if I could, I would take it all back because I was wrong. I told you to live and let go but I shouldn’t have.” He had to question every choice he ever made, if it was ever the right thing to do. “But if I let myself believe, for just a second, that I abandoned you? That I let you go through all that pain alone? I can’t live with myself knowing I did that.” Then he was just the maker of his own demise, no one was a scapegoat, it was all on him. “Knowing I gave up on the one thing I fought my entire life for?” Every feeling he had right now was in turmoil, and hanging onto his anger at least gave him some sense of direction. “I can’t accept it. I won’t because if there’s even a fraction of a chance, that we could go back,  I’m still willing to fight for you.” To say he had no hope left wasn’t as true as he tried to convince himself and others. 

“So I should have held onto you? I should have let me and the twins die in that fire because I wouldn’t let you go? I should have been in even more pain and agony for years? You saved me from that. And it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t abandon me. You let me live and heal. I don’t blame you for any of it,” she stated, shaking her head. “It wasn’t your fault. I have never once blamed you for any of it. You gave it all up for me because you believed it was for the best. And it gave you the ability to find peace for a little while,” Bonnie explained, wiping a tear away. “There is no going back, Enzo. We can’t just erase the years. I’m not the same person I was before. I could never promise that it would be the same as it used to be. And I can’t stop having feelings for someone else. I feel guilty about you being here and my being with someone else, but it is what it is.”
