hikes are very good yes but a deluxe hike is when you are accompanied by a freak with niche nature knowledge. they’re like omg stop there’s a horned valerian varmint beetle here and then you both get to crouch down and look at a bug like :)

I think it's actually healthy to have at least one life aspiration that's abnormal to want and impracticable to achieve. It lends a sense of perspective.

Being a successful mathematician

looking at my calendar schedule from last year and realizing "no wonder I wanted to kill myself"

proposing a new genre of fiction called an anti-romance where u r presented w a couple at the start & the story is about their emotional journey towards a catastrophic break up

will they won't they (end this farce). there's only one bed (but for some reason they don't really want to share it). out of context eavesdropping (that paints the relationship in a better light than it deserves). chasing after them to stop them getting on that plane (and stopping them from finally being free)

nobody understands my vision i don't mean any old story where a relationship fails and it's tragic or w/e i mean a story where the intention is for the audience to root for it failing the same way u root for it succeeding in a romance. & when the relationship finally implodes at the climax of the story it's all very cathartic & everybody cheers.

Sometimes I wish there were a real element of physical skill in mathematics. Like I could be stuck at a proof, and having consulted unsuccessfully with my friends, determine that there is no path forward through mind. In such a state, I would journey out into the wilderness and punch a cave wall until my hand is shaking and broken so that it cracks open and I can peer through that crack for a just a moment, right before the protective cave secretions seal the crack shut, and glimpse the answer to my mathematical problem. It wouldn't be something to do every time I am stuck, as it would be very physically demanding. But it would be nice to have the option. The certain path to fall back upon, reassuring me, in my mathematical journey.

washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes
