(an animatic is the stage between a storyboard and a final animation! the drawings are often a bit rough, like the ones in this one, but there’s transitions and sound generally)

another video game class assignment focused on mood shifts of a location! this one is a combo of digital painting and photo mashing
Had to design a weapon for my video game class. This is a light-stealing weapon that blinds enemies and can be upgraded into a melee weapon! >:))
This was my first assignment for school and my first attempt at digital painting! I had to do concept art for a video game environment. My video game idea is about this climate change researcher that gets sucked into this world that exists within the northern lights and who has to survive and figure out how to get home. I learned a lot from this assignment and feel like I’ve already improved immensely since making it!

This is another piece I did for the portfolio requirement for the school application. I majored in art history and studio art with a sculpture concentration so I literally had like, no 2D artwork in my portfolio and had to make a bunch to even apply to school. It’s formatted in the original file version to be folded into a single page zine and the second image is what I want printed on the back as a sort of surprise. ;)
This is the first comic I started after I decided I wanted to pursue a career in animation! It’s also the last one I worked on before submitting my drawing portfolio to DePaul University’s animation program. I got in, so WOOHOO! I haven’t finished the last page since I got into school and got a job but I have the final page roughed out and know how it’s gonna end. :)
