Hello! I'm Becky, a jolly Canuck who writes as a day job and writes fanfic by night. Yes, I'm a little off my rocker. Right now I'm all about Dragon Age, specifically the Antivan Crows from Veilguard. I'm Tricksy_Hobbitses on AO3.
Most of my work can be found in the Hobbitses Dragon Age Universe Prime. I only play games once, so I have one single personal Dragon Age canon. Universe Prime is where my Rook, Meruka de Riva Dellamorte, comes out to play, largely in post-Veilguard fics. It's also the home of my longfic, Blood Venom Sex Magic, where a Ferelden apostate mage becomes entangled in the lives of the tempestuous talons, Viago de Riva and Teia Cantori.
My big project right now is a Rookanis farmer's market AU called In the Market for Love. This Rook isn't Meruka but a different character whose chosen name is straight-up Rook.
I'm also a visual novel developer, creating a romance VN based on the Robin Hood legends over at @velvet-cupcake-games!

Artist Participation Guidelines:
This is an abbreviated list. The full requirements are on the Artist Guide page.
You will produce a polished illustration tangibly inspired by the fanfiction you’re paired with.
What does tangibly inspired mean? You can choose to depict:
👉 the featured characters
👉 a specific scene from the fic
👉 a broader, more symbolic illustration, like might be used for a book cover
What route you take is up to you! You’re encouraged to talk to your writer for inspiration, but this is not a commission, so follow your imagination and inspiration.
Do I need to be a professional or experienced artist to join? What if I only like certain Dragon Age games or content?
We accept artists of all skill and experience levels! You do not need to be professional or experienced, and there is no application/jurying period for this type of event. Once you sign up, you’re in!
Our writers’ fics cover all four Dragon Age games, with themes ranging from modern AUs to canon retellings to NSFW & darkfic. Whatever part of Dragon Age is your favorite, we have a fic that will interest you!
About Claims & Matching:
Anonymous pitches will be available from August 3rd - 10th. Artists will submit a sign up form ranking the six (6) fics they most want to work with. Then, the mods will match up writers and artists based on those rankings.
The fics on offer range from Teen to Explicit and have a variety of relationship types, including platonic and crossover ships. Some of our writers are focusing on canon characters, while others are including OCs.

I want to talk about the harm caused by trying to police AI in creative communities, because things are getting really toxic. For the record, I dislike generative AI too. I think it’s built on theft and goes against the point of human expression. But turning online spaces into places where everyone is watched just to catch 'AI users' is hurting marginalized creators. Before you accuse someone based on a gut feeling or an unreliable detector, remember this: What people call AI 'tells' often look a lot like standard ESL writing. Non-native English speakers usually use structured, precise grammar or stick to common transitions because that’s how they learn the language. Accusing someone of using AI just because their writing sounds 'too clean' or 'formulaic' is often just xenophobia. This also hurts neurodivergent or hyper-focused writers. Many writers on the spectrum have their own structured styles, or they can write a lot in a short time. Calling high productivity or a different writing style 'robotic' pushes away the very people who make fan spaces interesting.
The 'witch hunt' mindset does real damage. A community can handle a few cases of bad, AI-generated text getting through. What it can’t handle is a place where creators are too scared to post because a few loud voices are ready to attack them over a simple sentence.
AI models are trained on very structured, perfect grammar. So when a real person uses precise words, common transitions like 'Furthermore' or 'It is important to note,' or textbook grammar, detectors often say it’s AI. There’s a real ESL bias: studies show non-native English speakers get falsely accused much more often. Because ESL writers use standard words and sentence structures, detectors often flag their real work as robotic. One Stanford study found that 61% of essays written by international students were wrongly flagged as AI by at least one detector.
I want to end with one last message: stop trying to act like a digital cop. If you don’t like something, just move on. Unless someone openly says they used Gen AI, forcing people to defend themselves in public is ruining the spaces we’re trying to protect.

So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. I don't even have that large of boobs but every time I go down some stairs all I can think about is that stupid quote about boobing breastily down the stairs or whatever it is because God Damn.
But anime and video game boob jiggling is like. The most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen nine times out of ten. You would think people this horny about tits would have actually looked at some but I guess not.
What we really need is some pervert to compile the ultimate visual guide to boob bouncing physics that's just like 500 hours of meticulously organized videos of breasts of different size and shape and under different fabrics bouncing around from a wide variety of physical movements so horny game devs can finally get it right and I don't have to be creeped out by women who appear to have surgically implanted softballs in their chest under skin made of rubber bands.
The thing that gets me the most is when the boobs appear to have their own set of lungs. Yes, everyone's chest moves up and down a bit when they breathe. But breathing does NOT cause one's breasts to lift up and away from the torso as though somebody tied a pair of supercharged helium balloons to the nipples. That's not how any of this works!

Amelia keeps her surname because she chooses to stay in House de Riva, but her and Lucanis' children are all in House Dellamorte. Viago did try to convince her to allow some of her children to join House de Riva, but she wasn't keen on interhouse rivalry within their family home.
As heads of their respective houses, Viago and Lucanis agreed that Lucanis would consider allowing them to join House de Riva when they were old enough to make the choice, and Viago said that all of his grandchildren would be eligible to become head of the house - if they joined it.
Meruka decided to become Meruka de Riva Dellamorte. Lucanis did not wish to be both her husband and her Talon (she agreed that was a bad idea), so she stayed in House de Riva. Viago bitches that he still never sees HIS Crow anymore and also that Meruka's discipline has grown lax because Lucanis indulges her.
"I'm her husband. You're her Talon," Lucanis replies with a shit-eating grin. "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Meruka" plays on repeat in Viago's head.
I really wonder what the demographic outcome would be of trans people involuntarily getting "the body you'd have if practicality wasn't a concern" like what percentage of the resulting bodies would be obviously nonhuman?

So I'm probably going to be pretty quiet for the next few months. I'm taking part in the Dragon Age Big Bang, which means I'm doing a 25k+ longfic (mine will probably be around 40k) that I can't talk about in public until like November or something.
I am super excited and having an absolute blast writing it so far, but between this longfic and my day job, I probably won't have time to write much else. I'll still be here cheering y'all on and reblogging cool Dragon Age shit and other random posts.
