The Complex Harmonic Motion’s Complex Timeline

(I did this to the best of my abilities. I had to look through comment sections for anything Themossstomper may have mentioned and find specific detailed quotes from the Outsider series lol. )

LETS GET TO IT THEN *drum roll*

The Unwelcome Guest -begins November ‘06-‘07

-Tess was in that hospital ward for a couple months so we enter the year ‘07 during this story. The events of the OG happen in this game so that helps with the timeline.

The Stranger In Their Midst-‘07 -‘08

-In chapter 6 of SITM Tess asks Reno how long she’s been on Gaia and he answers “You showed up in November '06, I think. A year and eight months." To which Reno adds “"Gettin' close to two years then,”. Hence why I believe SITM ends as they approach the year ‘08

-the final arc begins sometime between July-August cause they’re celebrating Tess’ B-Day and her zodiac sign is a Leo. They celebrate it in Costa del Sol. She was taken captive for about two weeks.

-Tess just had one hell of a crappy start on Gaia which is why I was shocked all that hell she went through in SITM happened in a time span a little under a year.

Making Memories-‘08-‘09

-the brownie chapter (first chapter of Making Memories) Reno mentions it was a year ago Tess had her first coffee and chocolate. He remembered it to the day like the sweet heart he is aww. (Now remember she was by herself in that ward for some months before she stumbled upon Reno)

-At the end of SITM (ch.66- the epilogue, it’s autumn )they make things “official” for realsies this time (these two are a headache XD) . At the time of Reno’s Day, they have been in an official official dating relationship for about 5 months. Now remember the Reno’s Day (February) chapter takes place before Towards the Storm. It’s ‘09 now.

Towards the Storm-‘09

-It is during this time they have been dating for about 8 months( this story most likely takes place in the month of May). The end of TTS leads directly into Advent Children so this helps us prove TTS takes place in ‘09

-The Kalm Festival and Christmas chapter of Making Memories take place after TTS.

-The Kalm Festival chapter of Making Memories is celebrating their 1 year anniversary (It’s Autumn, September most likely) So after TTS and Kalm festival, they have been dating for 1 year and this means Tess has been on Gaia for about 3ish years now, like 2 years and some change.

When I read The Outsider series and I think of the events from Rude, Elena, Tseng, Cissnei, Reeve, and Tycos POV, none of them knew what kind of relationship Tess and Reno had going on. Not that they need to, but they’re pretty observant and Turks are nosy gossips. Each figured it was just Reno having a fling or trying to get information. It depends on each character really. Reeve might be the only one from the beginning who saw the small attraction that would soon blossom. But everyone else just thought they were “super close” friends. So I can only imagine how it was for them to see Reno distraught when Tess was missing. And then I can only imagine their surprise when Tess stepped up to demand Reno’s rescue when he went MIA(I wonder if Rufus was always planning to find him or if he was really going to wait it out.. time was not on their side and he was being difficult) . They didn’t think they were that serious and so ride or die for each other. And to be honest, Tess and Reno didn’t think they were so ride or die until the other went missing. Tess may be a regular civilian but she would not just wait in the hospital while Renos out crash landed in the middle of nowhere . So I like that talk cissnei has with Tess, and when Tseng tells Tess “I’m glad Reno’s trust is not misplaced”. I think they see Reno in a whole new light cause he’s the last turk they would have imagined settling down. Also I love when I see Tess, an untrained civilian, still put on her brave face to do the right thing. It can be scary but I love how she pulls through in the end.

Cosmo Mini-Pies

Hey everyone!

Here’s a fun (but somewhat complex) recipe that makes a great appetizer: Cosmo Mini-Pies.

I love these! This dish actually has a different name in Cosmo Canyon, but I’m not sure what it is, and the cookbook doesn’t explicitly say what it is except that it exists. It’s fine, though, because that doesn’t take away from how good these taste lol. These pies are crisp, savoury, and a great midday snack. What’s great about them is that every culture has their own rendition of the “meat pie”, but the Cosmo version is my favourite.

I’ve seen some recipes where these mini-pies have chicken or chocobo or something, but I’ve chosen to go with the beef version. Also, I realize the existence of a mini-pie means that there’s probably a “full pie” out there, but no such thing exists as far as I know. Plus, who doesn’t love the prospect of eating through a million tiny pies? ;)
