My local university is hosting a virtual series on data centers, and the poor speaker in the first session was TOTALLY unprepared for the types of questions participants asked. She's an engineering grad student with legitimate expertise (mostly to do with energy consumption and ways the industry is trying to curb emissions). But people are asking about the whole life cycle of the equipment from extraction to end of life, where the money from tax incentives goes, etc. She's answering as best she can from her position, but the ties of academic engineering especially to industry are so obvious
