THE PLUMMET HAD MOST CERTAINLY LEFT HIM QUESTIONING whether or not he was even still alive. for all he knew, this could have simply been what the afterlife looked like; after all, he had never met a talking flower before. and yet... despite this lingering doubt in his own consciousness, sunny still felt as though he was alive, and so it most likely couldn’t have hurt for him to presume that this much remained true until proven otherwise. standing rather awkwardly before the sentient bloom, all he could really offer flowey was a meek raise and lowering of his hand.

news had spread quickly of the new family moving into town. it wasn’t everyday that people actually, came here after all. but what was shocking to most was the fact that it wasn’t another monster family - but a human one. and that had made kris both nervous and anxious.

they’d never seen another human face to face, only in pictures and news articles. they lived with monsters all their life, never knowing their birth family. how the hell are they supposed to interact with someone of a race that, while their own, they never really had much familiarity with? regardless, they had decided to take a look for themselves, and see their first human: a teenager their age, trying to lift a big box of who knows what.

they’re frozen in the other’s gaze, not knowing what to do for a moment, before hands rise up and begin to sign. hopefully they knew.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE BOTH OF THEM, communication would prove itself no simplistic feat, as while sunny knew of the means by which the other sought to convey their intent, he had no such knowledge beyond its mere existence; and as someone whose lips instinctively remained sealed in the face of any and all strangers, he was in no position to speak himself. nevertheless, the boy seems welcoming of what assistance kris can offer, nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders and then positioning himself in such a way that the opposite end of the box in question can be properly lifted alongside his own feeble efforts.
