FOREVER \ DREAMING

"the good quality ramen is on sale today." rei holds up a couple bowls of instant ramen. it's a little more pricy than the usual cup noodle brand, so she likes to buy them when they go on sale.

she wasn't going to bother approaching adachi this time, in junes. but when she noticed the standard cup noodles in his shopping basket, she figured it would be worth giving him a little heads up about the sale.

rei wasn't about to leave mahiru stumbling around drunk in the streets. what kind of friend would that make her? so of course she's going to help him get home in one piece.

however, she should have taken into account just how drunk he really is. because as soon as she gets him through the door of his apartment, mahiru is caging her in against the nearest wall. she doesn't even have time to process what's going on before he's got his lips hungerly pressed against her own.

she can taste the alcohol that he just consumed as they start swapping spit. hands grabbing fistfuls of his hoodie almost like a lifeline. she should push him off of her. yell at him for crossing such a line. she should leave, before things go too far. but maybe, just this once, she'll let herself be a little selfish. he probably won't remember any of this tomorrow, anyway.

and rei gives in. kisses him back just as needy, moaning into his mouth when she feels his teeth nip at her bottom lip. and mahiru's hands can't seem stay away either. clumsily groping at whatever he can get his hands on causing a shiver to run down her spine.

rei isn't sure how they even ended up like this. their lips pressed together, slow at first but growing more heated -- more needy -- as the seconds go by. and she can't seem to keep her hands off of cheng xiaoshi either. fingers tangled in his hair, tugging on it every so often. it's almost like if she were to stop touching him, he'll fade away and this moment in time will cease to exist.

it's easy for him to slide his tongue into her mouth. doesn't deny him full access to her mouth. and it's been so long since rei has last been kissed like this. the sensation of his tongue dancing around with hers -- exploring every inch of her mouth -- feels heightened. overwhelmingly pleasant. a small sigh escapes into the kiss as rei tries to pull cheng xiaoshi in even closer, if that's even possible.

when the two of them finally pull away, gasping for air, a string of saliva still connects them together until it eventually snaps. and she stares at him for a few moments, eyes hazy and face flushed. brain trying to process everything that just transpired. she wipes away a little bit of drool that has formed in the corner of her mouth with her finger.

rei finally finds her words again. "i'd... like to do that again."
