i’m still trying to get the money together for fixing my mouth after my teeth were mostly smashed out in a transphobic assault that left me in a coma for a while, and i’ve got a job and medicaid now but all insurance will currently cover with my financial resources is extractions which will absolutely not help the situation. i have what i’ve made from the previous donations and with the dental school nearby me i’m going to be able to get work done cheaper than through other means, but i’m still not close to the total for all the work. i’d prefer not to use gofundme and i haven’t found another fund site yet to set one up with, but in the meanwhile if anyone can chip in anything for this it would be incredibly helpful and i would be so, so fucking grateful. i can barely eat anymore, and with the cold weather my jaw problems have been getting exacerbated horribly.

I’m really struggling as a trans woman and a sex worker since SESTA/FOSTA took away most of my advertising venues, and I’ve been unable to develop a base of reliable regulars. Things got truly dire last night, when a major client stood me up, losing me the money I had counted on to stay alive and afloat. I wanted to do a post on this for a while, as many of you have ran into one during sugaring.

The highlight is on dating apps and dating sites. Why? Because it’s the perfect ground for a narcissist to get his “supply”. Now there is a difference between your regular playboy wannabe guy with minor ego issues and a true narcissist, the one with NPD (narcissistic personality disorder).

When saying “supply” it refers to constant supply of new victims, additions to the pack of his “flying monkeys” who are there to constantly praise, validate, admire, provide attention, usually in form of texting and online contact, which gives the narcissist a safe place as he can set the boundaries and always be in control (crucial), avoid questions, disappear when convenient, avoid confrontation. They are all called “friends”. I’m not saying that he won’t be fucking around too, he will take any chance given (the more women are “in love” the more value he feels to himself).

After the red flags, I’ll leave some tips how to get that into your advantage.

There are 4 phases of dealing with every narcissist:

-overvaluation (you are the best thing that has ever happened to him, the most magnificent woman, one in a million, et cetera, you get the point)

-love bombing (he will do almost anything to get you to fall for him, gifts, dinners, exaggerated love expressions, caring end extreme emphaty- thus the phase is called “love bombing”) don’t be fooled- it’s all fake

-devaluation (here he, once you are in his net and you have fallen for him, start with gaslight and insulting, you are now so wrong, so stupid to do this and that, can’t do anything right, and the list goes on)

-discard (the name itself says it all, he will here literally discard you, disappear or bluntly end things with you)

There is no time stamp that can be used to universally define the duration of each phase. It differs from case to case.

Disclaimer: THEY always get back, after the discard phase it is almost certain that he will get in touch again, maybe after 5 days, months or a year. Especially if you provided them with good “fix” for his condition, as they are just like any other addicts, they might change and juggle the dealers and keep them on rotation.

There is no medication that can be used to help them so it’s a lost cause. Treatment can help in case they genuinely are ready to address the issue.

Common red flags:

-Status Consciousness: They make statements that show that they are extremely aware of status markers and frequently call attention to their own or other people’s status.

-Hierarchical Thinking: They place everyone that they meet on a hierarchy from lowest to highest according to some status marker that they value. They tend to be deferential and super nice to those people that they consider above them. Those they consider below them, they look down on, mistreat, ignore, or graciously condescend to treat well depending on their mood. They tend to get into dominance fights with people who are on approximately their own level and have trouble with the idea that anyone may be their equal.

-One-Mindedness: They can only see things from their own perspective. They usually cannot understand how two people might have different, yet equally valid points of view. If they offer their view and you offer a different one, they assume that you are telling them that they are wrong. They are likely to react as if you are attacking them, rather than simply giving your opinion.

-Hypersensitivity to Slights: They are hyper-sensitive to feeling slighted or mistreated in any way. They assume that if they feel hurt, the other person is doing it on purpose.

-Disproportionate Anger: They get extremely mad at things that seem quite minor to most people, like waiting an extra ten minutes for a table in a restaurant. Their degree of fury and hurt will seem very disproportionate to the actual situation.

-Grandiosity and Devaluation: The “GOD” defense. When something makes them feel inferior or imperfect, they become Grandiose, they insist on their Omnipotence, and they Devalue other people. They may make statements that sound as if they must be kidding or simply exaggerating, like: “I could easily do my boss’s job better than he does. In fact, I could do his boss’s job! I know exactly what needs to be done. They are all a bunch of idiots!”

-Extreme Language: Everything and everybody is either perfect, special, the best or else they are the absolute worst. There is nothing in between.

-Cruel Descriptions of People: Many Narcissistic people use language that other people find cruel and inappropriate. They say things out loud that other people might think, but keep to themselves for fear of hurting someone. “I can’t believe someone as fat as her is wearing that dress and she thinks it makes her look good.” Or, “That is the stupidest waiter I have ever had.”

-Low Empathy: They say and do things that hurt other people without seeming to care about causing pain. Sometimes they are oblivious to other people’s reactions because they are so focused on themselves. If you point out that they said something that hurt you, they are likely to either make light of it, “I didn’t mean it that way. You are too sensitive,” or turn around and outright attack you, “Only a moron like you would think that was an insult.”

-Inability to Apologize or Admit Mistakes: Narcissists construct a defensive façade in order to protect their shaky self-esteem. They do not usually have stable enough self-esteem to admit mistakes and apologize without feeling more shame than they can stand. They also believe on a deep, sometimes unconscious, level, that if they admit that they are not as perfect as they pretend to be, that the other person is going to take this admission as an opportunity to degrade and humiliate them.

Okay now ladies, as much as we can go sobbing and raging, TURN THIS INTO YOUR ADVANTAGE!

How? Keep the love bombing phase as long as possible, as they are generous in this stage, so get everything you can possibly. You may ask again, HOW: be elusive, be stingy with your affection, be busy, keep the praising on the minimum. Use their weapon to defeat them:

•punishment - whenever he doesn’t comply give the silent treatment, simply ignore them, or just mildly scold them.

•reward - when he does comply and provides what you asked for, whether those are gifts, cash or whatever you asked for, you give them their fix (praise, affection, attention, validation). NOTE: each time the fix should be proportional to the gift he provided. As you would train a dog (stick and carrot, when he misbehaves use the stick and when he behaves he gets the “carrot”, treat, fix, reward, call it as you want)

Needles to say you should never let them into your world completely, never give your address, bank account, school you attend, number of your friends or anything similar that can be used to track you or get to you. IN CASE YOU DO DECIDE TO GO DOWN THIS ROAD AND GET THE SUGAR FROM THE NARCISSIST. Have a completely made up persona for these type of men. Everything opposite to your reality.
