Looked through the #variety contenders and shortlisted my to-watch list: KILLS ON WHEELS - Hungary ON THE OTHER SIDE - Croatia APPRENTICE - Singapore Ma ROSA - Philippines (at 110 minutes it looks as Brillante has kept the drama and timing in check!)

I was at the library looking into Lonely Whale 52 updates and came across Adrian Grenier’s @thedailyshow last week (11/14/16). Adrian is on a mission with his lonelywhale.org. But this is a seemingly new mission. What about the original Lonely Whale project Adrian?  I received my stocking cap gift from the Kickstarter campaign. It is great, keeps me cozy. But when will the show/results of your teams search be released?  The important stuff. Relating to what Adrian mentioned on the Daily Show: “I feel the best way to convince and inspire is to carry through with promises”. I only hope Adrian’s Kickstarter will deliver on its promise.

This advertorial in the Seattle weekly is disturbing…. Of course cooking is like chemistry and chemistry is part of science which begins with an S which is at the front of STEM.

Gabriel Campanario’s sketch last week in the Seattle Times gave viewers a colorful image from the demolition of the Greyhound Bus Station. His work reminded me of a sketch I did of the Station out my window at the Williamsburg Court back in 1999. Seattle’s old Greyhound bus station gets torn down My time at the cross-hairs of Stuart & Terry was a tipping point for me, Seattle and what seemed to be the World. Kicking off ‘99′s winter of content with the WTO, millennials readying to move into relevance, contractors preparing the Kingdome to be demolished, and a looming 6.8-quake, Williamsburg Court was my jumping-off point through it all.  Gabriel’s story led me to read Sanjay Bhaat’s story in the Seattle Times on Rising Rents Pushing out Tenants. Focusing on the demise of the Williamsburg Court,  this Denny Triangle location seemed to provide comfort like it had for me to a variety of others over the past 100 years.   Rising Rents Push out Tenants Hearing stories of my mother’s first apartment on Capitol Hill being eaten up by I-5 construction, I knew the Williamsburg Court, Greyhound Station nor this view would exist forever. Time marches on for each generation.  The photo below shows the tower in the background that yanked my sketch out of the present and into history. I like to think of this hole in the foreground as the grave which the tower pushed Williamsburg Court into, for eternity...

Found myself hungry on a quick trip to Bremerton last week. Trying to stay on the healthy side, I grabbed a Washington State apple. This apple tasted sweet and put a stop my grumblings.

Never mind the aroma and excitement in the pre-Full Moon chilled air: From the lightweight and masterful cuts of heavy, hard Teak to the softly hand sewn leather handrails, RESERVE had us at the front door. We were in artisan heaven.

A great way to spend Friday night with the family, I predict this place will be full of global touristas as well as locals over the holidays. Strategically placed at the bottom of Cap Hill, Reserve shines a spotlight on the 21st century ideology of Starbucks and its awesome employees...all the way down to the unisex bathroom!

The Pacific Northwest designs and builds the most innovative vessels afloat. Along with its own mega yacht manufacturers, I love seeing these voluptuous ladies (below) visit the Evergreen State. Maybe legislators should change the State’s name to the Azure State. Too bad tax regulations limit the stay of visiting yachts. Corporate entities get tax incentives, why not megayachts? If ownership was exempt, or if holidays were extended to 24 months…both job security and creation would be welcome by shipwrights and yacht management teams. Another bonus, their beauty would enhance our shores like the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland. Washington State should be the Switzerland for yachts!
