I've had some people asking about my 630,000 word Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fanfiction, so I figured I'd post about it!

You can read the story here! It's on AO3 with beautiful art and it's rad!

The story is currently two parts, "Wayward Baby" is 530,000 words and complete, "Heaven Baby" is 100,000 words and counting.

Wayward Baby is between Parts 5 & 6 of Jojo and is 100% canon compliant! Minimal knowledge of Jojo is required since it's an original story in the Jojo world, but base knowledge of the world's magic system and the main Jojos would enhance your reading experience.

The story is about Shizuka Joestar, the invisible baby that Joseph and Josuke found in Part 4. Joseph adopted the baby and gave her a name that can be read as "Jo Joestar" in Kanji, which means Shizuka is Jojo material, baby! While Shizuka technically exists in the manga, it's safe to say she's a 100% original character at this point, even her Stand ability has changed. Shizuka's design and this gorgeous painting is by @laveerie

their big eggs are actually that size for a similar reason to human babies having massive heads!! being bigger at birth can be important.

kiwi are trying SO HARD to become mammals. fur-like feathers, whisker-like feathers, little beady eyes, nocturnal, great sense of smell.... that's basically a mammal!! they're well suited for life on the forest floor.

their big eggs work alongside these adaptations to give them a leg up in the bird world. their young hatch already feathered! they're precocial, which means they're born with the ability to open their eyes and move around. like foals.

big egg = more powerful offspring from the get-go. babies don't need to spend precious time vulnerable while they develop on the ground when they've already done all that in the egg!
