Okay so I’ve put several hundred hours into Monster Hunter Wilds. I like the game. A lot! But with a couple exceptions (mostly Arkveld-related; I will freely admit that Arkveld’s theme whips), I find the music in it DEEPLY mid. A couple of the Apex fights are okay but none of them stick with me. Zoh Shia’s song is bad. Gogma’s theme is bad. It’s mostly very mid. But, like, whatever, I can still use my giant silly weapon and hack some critters into bits and make gloves out of them, it’s fine.

but. It is VERY FUNNY to me that fuckin’ Rathalos, “the Pikachu of MonHun,” who’s been in basically every MH game ever and even showed up in goddamn Super Smash Bros, only just NOW got his own theme in this game. And it’s shite. Just an absolute trash song. BUT because we know with basically 100% certainty that Rathalos is gonna continue to be in every future MonHun game, this dogshit theme is almost certainly gonna follow him. He’s forever cursed by the fact that no one bothered to give him a unique theme until he was in the hands of the dev team with the WORST music department. Poor fella.

A Pokemon with multiple forms (like Zygarde) will only be counted for the specified form. A Pokemon with multiple appearances (like Spinda, Vivillon, Sylvally, etc.) count for all their appearances.
