summary: after Gryffindor beats Slytherin in their first quidditch match of the school year, Harry decides heâs feeling lucky tonight.
pairing: Harry Potter x fem!reader
warning(s): fluff, suggestive content
There was nothing like a celebration after a Quidditch match; especially when that match was against Gryffindor and Slytherin.
Breakfast was a tense and excitable affair that morning. Ron could barely touch his food, much unlike him. Students at the Slytherin table stared daggers at Gryffindors, dark smiles spreading across their faces as they snickered at Ronâs sick face. They booed and hissed loudly at every Gryffindor that walked by, their usual treatment towards their opposing side.
âRon itâs just like playing in your backyard, yeah?â You spoke, sticking your fork into a roasted potato on your plate. He nodded his head, swallowing thickly from beside you, taking a moody bite of toast.
You glanced up at Harry and Hermione, raising your eyebrows as if to say âyou guys got anything?â
Harry smiled softly, the same smile that always spread on his face when he had a bright idea. You raised an eyebrow, a smile spreading across your face as well and watched Harry slide a goblet across the table.
âThere you go, Ron. Drink up.â
You stared at the goblet, curious to why Harry was so determined to get Ron to drink something. Then it clicked. Felix Felicis.
âDonât drink that, Ron!â Hermione shouted sharply. All three of you looked over at her, surprised at her sudden outburst.
âWhy not?â Ron asked, holding the goblet in his hand. Hermione was staring at Harry as if she could not believe her eyes.
âYou put something in his drink.â She spoke, fully turning her body to face Harry.
âExcuse me?â Harry paused, his eyes flickering over to you as you held a smile down, feeling the corners of your mouth twitch up in amusement.
After the two bickered and Ron realized there was liquid luck in his pumpkin juice, he lifted the goblet and gulped it down, a smile immediately appearing on his face.
Harry grinned in reply and your eyes attached to his face. His teeth peeked out from behind his lips, his eyes crinkling in the corners behind his glasses. He had his arms crossed, presenting his thick biceps towards you.
Safe to say you were struggling to focus on Hermioneâs chatter about how âunethicalâ this was and how Harry could get expelled from the school if caught.
Harry rolled his eyes and looked over at you, his grin still adorning his face. He tilted his head slightly and shrugged his shoulders making a face as if to say ânot a problem to me.â
You matched his grin on your face, slightly chuckling from where you were seated next to Ron.
âLetâs go win this game mate.â
It seemed as though Gryffindor could do no wrong. Again and again they scored, and again, at the other end of the pitch, Ronâs broom acted like a quaffle magnet; he had saved every goal with ease.
You stood there clad in a deep red tee, golden letters spelling out Gryffindor with a roaring lion and a jean skirt. A red headband was tucked behind your ears, matching with Hermioneâs own.
The two of you stood near the rail, gripping onto the old wood as you watched the sky.
âHarryâs looking good up there.â Hermione whispered, smiling widely at you when you turned with wide eyes and cheeks heating with every fleeting second.
âI could say the same for your dear Ron.â You quipped, smiling back at her as she shook her head. âYouâre hopeless you know.â Hermione stated matter of factly.
âAm I?â
She hummed in reply, nodding as her curly hair blew in the wind. âI donât see why the two of you donât just admit to yourselves that youâre in love.â
At that, your breath caught for the first time that day. The entire match, cheers came to you like a snap of your fingers. But admitting to Harry that you had a crush on him? It felt so infantile.
What would you do? Walk up to him after the match and smile saying âHey! I like you by the way!â You wondered how ridiculous heâd think you were.
Hermione seemed to read your thoughts as you stood there silently, your eyes focused on the rotting wood below you.
âHe likes you too Y/n. We can all tell.â She spoke softly, a hand reaching out to your arm.
You turned to her with bright eyes, giddiness rising in your chest. Your heartbeat seemed to quicken in your chest as you looked around the pitch, instantly finding the jet black head of hair you were searching for.
You watched as Harry shouted at Harper, an idiot Slytherin boy who had replaced Draco Malfoy this year as Seeker. He was on Harperâs tail, who was feet behind the golden snitch. All of a sudden you watched as Harper fumbled the snitch, let it slip through his fingers, and shot right past it.
You gasped from your spot in the stands watching as Harry made a great swipe for the tiny ball and caught it.
Gryffindor had beat Slytherin.
You and Hermione had nearly lost your voices cheering for Ron and Harry at their first game back for your sixth year.
The team landed on the bright green grass of the pitch, laughing and smiling hugging one another. You could see Harry being lifted midair smiling widely with the snitch held tightly in his hand. For a moment, and just a moment, it seemed like he was smiling and holding that snitch up just for you.
Hermione watched as a grin spread across your face, pure joy emitting brightly.
You and Hermione walked back to the common room with arms linked as she gravely complained about Lavender Brownâs lack of social awareness. You chuckled slightly as you listened, feeling bad for Hermione at the end of the day. It was crystal clear that she was jealous, the poor girl.
But Ron was still offended that she had kissed Viktor Krum in their fourth year and it seemed as though he was set on giving her vengeance.
Seamus had shouted to each Gryffindor that walked in to go prepare for their celebration before the rest of the team came back. You and Hermione rushed upstairs to change clothes and get ready, and you had hoped tonight may be a chance for you to talk to Harry and see if Hermione is actually right.
You put on a maroon skirt that stopped near your mid thigh, adding some shorts underneath just in case your dancing got out of hand, with a gold sequins tank top that hugged your body in the best way. You slid on some dark red flats and some jewelry, your earrings dangling from your ears with little golden snitches dazzling at the end.
After swiping on a bit of sparkly lip gloss you cast a quick âcrinus mutoâ which transformed your frizzy hair from the wind at the game to fresh blown out hair. Smiling in your mirror you sprayed on some perfume, a signature scent if you will.
As you sprayed it your thoughts wandered to Harry, imagining him smelling you when you walked by. You hoped heâd like the smell, your friends seemed to, and Crookshanks did as well, as he curled against your leg, dragging his soft fur against your skin.
You stood at the door to the common room with Hermione as she grabbed some last minute things. She turned and smiled at you, scanning your outfit.
âYouâre stunning Y/n. Harryâs got to see that.â She smiled holding the side of your arm and rubbing it gently. You nodded and exhaled, with a hand brushing down your skirt, âLetâs hope so.â
You wanted him to look at you. To pay extra attention to the way your eyelashes were curled. The way your styled hair bounced as you walked. The way your clothes fit just right. But most of all you wanted him to realize he wanted you just as badly as you wanted him.
You walked down the staircase with a hand grazing the railing and your eyes scanning the room. Cormac McLaggen watched you and Hermione but your eyes left his quickly as you searched for the one person you wanted.
The second star of the night, to Ron of course.
First you heard his laugh. It was the kind that you could recognize across the room. It was followed with amusement and mockery, as if someone had just told him a ridiculous joke. You adored his laugh.
Then you saw him. Your eyes met Harryâs as he was laughing with Dean Thomas about something from the game you could bet by the way Harry had his hand in the air as if he was playing out a scene. He had a form fitting t-shirt that hugged his body in all the right ways and a pair of jeans, with a jacket unzipped to cover his arms.
You smiled to yourself as you walked over to Harry, who was still involved in his conversation. His eyes flickered over to you and back to his conversation, but his mouth seemed to stop forming words.
He looked back over, longer this time, with Dean following his gaze to you. You watched a grin spread across Deanâs face as he clapped Harry on the shoulder and walked away, not before whispering something to him that made Harry swat him away.
Upon reaching Harry, your heart beating out of your chest, you smiled and spoke softly, âHey quidditch star.â
A smile spread across his face and he stood taller, at least four inches above you, âIs that what theyâre calling me now?â
âWell itâs what Iâm calling you.â You replied with a smile, holding eye contact.
He stared back and chuckled softly, quickly licking his lips quickly with a nod as he pushed his hands into his front pockets.
âYou look really good Y/n.â He speaks softly, so softly you thought your brain was lying to you; that you had heard him wrong.
Heat rose to your cheeks and Harry smiled, watching as your gaze left his for a moment before returning. You muttered a thanks in return and he nodded, biting his lower lip as he scanned your face as if searching for answers.
âWant a butter beer?â Harry asked, his eye brows raising as he reached one of his arms out towards you.
âThat sounds good, yeah.â You smiled and grabbed onto his arm, his bicep flexing beneath your hand. You held back with all your strength to keep from squeezing his muscular arm. He glanced back at you through the thick wave of students.
When you made it to the table towards the back of the common room lined with glasses of butter beer, Harry grabbed two glasses, raising one towards you which you grabbed with your opposite hand.
The two of you noticed that your hand was still on his arm, gripping his sleeve gently.
âComfortable?â Harry spoke softly as a grin spread across his face. âOh shush.â You replied, pulling your arm from his and holding your butter beer in your hand. The music was getting louder, the ground vibrating beneath you.
âWanna talk somewhere else?â Harry asks over the loud noise. You nodded and smiled and Harry smirked as he held out his arm for you again.
You blushed as you grabbed onto again, wishing you didnât make your feelings so painfully obvious every time you touched. Harry led you down a stone staircase, spiraling down to a small room lined with large stone bricks.
The two of you paused near a small set of stairs, standing against the cool wall. You suddenly felt vulnerable, as if his gaze was seeing straight through you. All of your confidence from entering the common room seemed to vanish as Harry stared at you. His gaze flickered from your eyes to your lips so quickly you nearly missed it.
âI meant what I said earlier.â He spoke first, breaking the silence between the two of you.
âWhat?â You asked, your mind suddenly blank form all conversation you had prior.
A smile flashed on his face as if he could read you easily, knowing that he had distracted you.
âWhen I said you look really good. I love that top on you.â
Harry didnât know where his sudden confidence was coming from, but he didnât want it to go. Heâd do anything to charm his way into your heart, and he felt as though he was halfway there.
It was almost like he had drank felix felicis with the way he spoke.
Your face flushed, a pink tint speckled across your cheeks. You tilted your head at him, scanning his face as he stood there as if holding back a grin.
âAnd I meant what I said earlier too.â
âAnd whatâs that Y/n?â He matches the tilt of your head. It was almost as if each of you had your turn at a sip of Felix Felicis.
âThat you looked really good at your match.â
The words spilled from your mouth before you could stop them and Harryâs mouth twitched even higher if that was possible. A dimple pressed into his cheek and he crossed his arms over his chest.
âIs that right? I donât remember you saying that earlier.â
It was like a game between two lions. Both of you on the prowl, circling one another, waiting to see who would make the first move.
Of course youâre both Gryffindors.
A smile spread across your face as you stepped forward, âWell I wanted to.â
Harry hummed in reply, watching your legs move forward towards him. He wanted nothing more than to lean forward and press his lips against yours. He cursed himself for the swooping motion his stomach made as he glanced at you, pushing him in between nervousness and charisma.
âI have to say something.â Harry spilled out before he could even register what he was saying.
âAnd whatâs that?â
He closed his eyes for a moment and pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.
âWill you go out with me? To Hogsmeade this weekend?â He asks, his shoulders dropping as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders.
A smile spread across your face and you bit down on your bottom lip to stop from looking too eager. You still wanted him to fight for you after all.
âI thought youâd never ask.â You reply as he grins broadly and lets out a soft chuckle. You wanted nothing more than to reach forward and embrace him, so before you could even think you reached out for his arms and pulled him near you.
His eyes widened with surprise but his grin stayed on his face, his adorable dimple making your heart flutter.
Then you wrapped your arms around his chest, your hands reaching his back and your head sideways against his front. He immediately reciprocated with a soft hum, his arms reaching around your shoulders and his hands grazing your hair.
âWhy havenât we done this sooner?â Harry asks against your head, his chin resting on top as he breathed in your perfume.
You laughed softly against his chest and turned your head to glance up at him. âIâd like to ask you the same question mister.â
He smiles down at you and glances down at your lips again. His smile slowly falls into something more serious as he watches your face.
âMerlin Y/n I like you so much.â He speaks softly, his eyes never leaving yours.
Your heart felt like it was about to burst out of your chest. It was like Fred and Georgeâs fireworks had blasted off in the room, colorful sparks and embers floating around yours and Harryâs heads.
âYou donât know how long Iâve waited to hear that. I like you too Harry.â You suddenly felt sheepish watching as Harry smiled brightly at you.
You heart swooned in your chest and you watched as the gears turned in Harryâs head.
âCan I kiss you?â Harry asks softly, his arms still wrapped around your back, slowly shifting down towards your waist.
âPlease.â You respond softly bringing your hands from his back to the front of his chest. Before your eyes flutter closed you keep your eyes on Harryâs face to memorize every detail.
The way his glasses began to slip down the bridge of his nose and his hair messily sat against his forehead. The way his eyes stared down at you lovingly, like you were the only thing that mattered in his life.
He leaned down and your eyes fluttered closed as his lips softly pressed against yours. Suddenly everything seemed to click. Nothing else mattered but you and Harry in that moment.
His mouth moved gently against yours, opening slightly to let your tongue slip in. As soon as he felt your tongue against his, he groaned softly and pulled on your waist so your hips were pressed up against his.
He squeezed your hips softly as you reached your arms up his chest, feeling his pecs beneath his tight shirt. One of your hands traveled up his neck and into his soft hair, pulling gently on it.
Your lips broke apart and the two of you stared at each other, incredulous smiles on your faces. He exhaled softly and reached a hand up to your face, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear.
âThat was..â you started, breathing softly as your hand stayed up in his hair, playing with the ends of it.
âAmazing.â He finished your sentence, his teeth flashing brightly at you. You chuckled and nodded, pushing his glasses up his nose before they slid down any further.
He muttered a soft thanks and squeezed the side of your waist one more time as he leaned down towards your ear.
âHow about.. we go and dance so I can show everyone just how smitten I am for you?â He whispers softly, sending chills down your spine. You exhaled softly as a smile spread across your face and you turned towards his ear.
âGo show them your new girlfriend Potter.â
With those words, the largest grin youâve ever seen on Harryâs face broke out. You matched it and he slid his hand from your waist to your hand, pulling you back up the staircase feeling giddy as ever.
âThis is gonna be the best year yet.â
Sweeter Than A Sâmore
summary: at the burrow, youâre uncomfortably close to your crush until feelings end up spilling out over a sweet treat.
pairing: Harry Potter x fem!reader
warnings: fluff!
The trees gently wiggled with the breeze, little leaves cascading down from the branches occasionally. You were perched on a little nook in Ginnyâs room at the Burrow with a Gladragâs Wizardwear magazine showcasing new arrivals in hand eyeing clothing you could buy on your next trip to Diagon Alley.
It was currently summer break and you were enjoying the last two weeks at the Burrow with the Weasleys, Hermione, and Harry.
Your sixth year was approaching and after all the stress from the year prior, you just hoped that this school year could be a bit normal.
But when youâre friends with Harry Potter, nothingâs ever really normal.
That was both a blessing and a curse. You absolutely loved all the adventures youâd gone on with your friends, but recently it felt like you were just barely escaping death. Your parents were so scared they nearly didnât let you return to Hogwarts after hearing about your fight with Death Eaters.
However, after reminding them that you would be miserable and never forgive them if they forced you to stay home, they reluctantly decided to let you finish off your seven years at Hogwarts.
Harry had to be the strongest person you knew. Heâs faced death five years in a row and still manages to wake up every day and fight for everyoneâs survival. He cares more about other people than he does himself.
It was absolutely one of your favorite things about him. When the two of you met in first year, you knew that he was the âboy who livedâ but he transformed from a celebrity to a friend in your eyes so easily.
He was incredibly humble, and you thought it definitely had something to do with his upbringing but you also liked to think that it was just Harry.
After closing the flimsy magazine and setting it down on the cushion beside you, you stand up and begin heading to the kitchen of the burrow, hoping to find one of Mrs. Weasleyâs snacks.
âFred! George! Oh you boys are going to be the death of me!â You could hear Mollyâs voice ring from the kitchen as she scolded her sons.
You chuckled to yourself as you finally reached the main floor and walked towards the kitchen to see the disaster she was screaming about.
They had set a dung bomb under a cushion and when Ron sat down to chat with Harry, it went off, releasing a putrid odor in the living room.
You immediately plugged your nose, your eyes squinting with the awful smell.
âBlimey Fred, this stinks!â Ron groans from the living room walking over to the kitchen, raising his eyebrows at you when he saw you as a greeting.
Fred and George were found in the living room sharing a smile as Molly scolded them. You glanced past them and saw Harry sitting on the floor with a wide smile on his face as he watched the boys fight for their lives to find an excuse about the dung bomb.
He glanced up at you, the amusement never leaving his eyes as he finally stood up to greet you.
âHow are you breathing right now that smells disgusting?â You ask, a hand still covering your nose as Harry casually walks over as if a dung bomb didnât just go off.
âIâve smelled worse at the Dursleyâs.â He replies, shrugging his shoulders with a grin. You laugh and shake your head, pondering over that. You could just imagine the mess Dudley and his father made at that house. Thinking of the smell Harryâs speaking of made you shudder.
âDearies, maybe itâs best you all go outside while we sort this smell out.â Molly says softly to you all, her voice growing sharp at the end as she looks at her twin boys.
All of you nod and slip shoes on to head outside in the late summer afternoon, the sun starting to fall a bit lower.
âYou guys wanna make a campfire?â Ginny asks all of you, starting to grab some fire wood from outside the house.
âOh yeah! What was that one thing you were talking about Hermione? A shmore?â Ron asks, his eyes visibly bulging at the thought of eating.
Hermione giggled and corrected him, âA sâmore.â
âYeah those.â Ron nodded, beginning to grab leftover âDaily Prophetâ newspapers to help start the fire.
All of you walked around the yard, searching for any sticks or pine needles that you could throw into the fire so that you could keep it going longer.
You and Harry broke off towards the same area and he rose from the mulch holding a large stick with a wide smile on his face.
âOn guard!â He called towards you, with one hand behind his back as he held the stick out towards you.
You laughed in response, grabbing the largest stick you could find on the ground, raising it up.
âI challenge you to a duel.â You reply in a mock voice, extending your stick towards Harryâs. He smirks and suddenly yells before lunging towards you with a stick. You retaliate and raise your own stick to stop his from hitting you in the face.
Ron, Hermione, and Ginny watch from the pile of fire wood and newspapers laughing to themselves.
"They have no idea how in love they are with each other." Hermione sighs, shaking her head as she tosses another 'Daily Prophet' on the firewood. Ron laughs, "Dimwits."
After a brutal hit from Harry's stick, yours snaps in half, leaving you with no weapon to defend yourself.
"Oh no." You mutter to yourself as Harry smiles mischievously. "I have you now." He declares, stalking closer towards you. "No!" You shout as you drop your joke of a stick and begin to run off towards other trees.
Laughter explodes from your chest as you turn around and see Harry running behind you, stick long forgotten. "I'm gonna get you!" He teases behind you, his voice scarily close.
All of a sudden you feel warm hands on your back and you're tumbling down to the grass. You land with a soft 'oof' and feel a weight on your stomach. When you open your eyes and glance down you're met with a jet black head of hair laying on your stomach.
Harry.
You were uncomfortably aware of your heart beat, feeling as if it was going to hop out of your chest any second. Harry moved his head so that he could see you, leaning away from your chest and stretching his arm with a soft groan, "Told you I'd get you." He says with a smile growing on his face. He was leaned up against one arm, with his head tilted to the side playfully. He looked adorable and your face couldn't help but heat up at the sight.
You playfully scoff in response and look to the side, hoping to hide your warm face as the blades of grass tickled you, "Boo."
Harry gets up and holds out his hand for you to grab it, "Come on. Lets go eat some shmores." You chuckle at his mockery of Ron and grab onto his hand, pressing your palm against his. His hand was warm against yours and you were increasingly aware of your skin touching. Your stomach felt like a cage of butterflies was trying to escape, fluttery with the excitement of a crush.
"Thanks." you murmur as you stand up and wipe your hands off on your jean shorts. He hums in reply and clears his throat, quickly turning towards the direction of Ron, Hermione, and Ginny.
As he walks, you follow behind, thinking about his body so close to yours. You couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to lay in bed with him, playing with his hair as he laid his head on your chest on purpose. Shaking your head, you tried to make the thoughts go extinct in your mind.
You couldn't continue the school year with this crush on one of your best friends; you wouldn't be able to stand the proximity.
Ron's voice snapped you out of your thoughts: "You blokes done jumping all over each other?"
Ginny laughed as yours and Harry's faces lit in embarrassment of being caught. "We were not jumping all over each other." You correct. "We were dueling."
Harry nods his head and scratches the back of his head, "Respect the lost art form Ron, would ya?"
You huff out a laugh at Harry's words as Ron mutters, "That's rubbish." -- leading the two boys to begin bickering--and drop a couple of sticks that you had with you prior to your fall in the pile. Hermione lights a match and drops it on your pile, a fire instantly igniting before you.
The orange glow reflects off your faces as you begin to roast your marshmallows, simply using sticks that you dusted off with an old rag. All of you were talking excitedly about the upcoming school year.
âThink Snapeâs gonna get the defense job yet?â Ginny asked with a grin as you all began to chuckle. âIn his dreams.â Harry mocked, his teeth flashing a wide grin.
âHeâs already insufferable in potions, I donât want him to ruin the best class.â You huffed, turning your marshmallow in the fire, hoping to get it nice and golden. âYouâll find that there are much better classes than defense against the dark arts if you just took them Y/n. I told you to take ancient runes last year.â
âThat class sounded awful Hermione, you know Iâd be bad at it.â You replied with a small smile and a shake of your head. Translating ancient texts all day and then writing essays about them did not sound fun to you.
âYeah plus I need you in divination Y/n, so you might as well stick with me.â Harry smiles from besides you, glancing down at his marshmallow shortly after making eye contact.
Suddenly the fire feels warmer, and you bite the inside of your lip to stop your smile from widening further. When you turn back your marshmallow caught fire, bubbling black by the second.
âOh Merlin.â You mutter to yourself as the group giggles, immediately bringing the marshmallow towards your lips and blowing it off. Harry laughs from besides you and pulls his marshmallow back, revealing a perfect golden brown marshmallow.
âLook what we have here.â He announces, holding his marshmallow near yours and biting back a smile at your burnt marshmallow.
âWhatever, itâll still taste good.â You turn your head away from him as you search for Graham crackers and chocolate but only see empty wrappers.
âAre we out of Graham crackers and chocolate?â You question, leaning forward onto your knees as you glance around.
âErr, I think so. Check inside, there should be some there.â Ron replies, keeping his eyes on his marshmallow as he sits with chocolate residue on the corner of his mouth.
As you stand up with your marshmallow Harry says, âIâll go with you. I need one too.â
You smile and nod as the two of you start to walk inside. You try to ignore the way your shoulders brush against each otherâs as he catches up to your pace, the two of you glancing at each other with small smiles.
Your heart felt like it was beating two times faster, nerves settling in as you were alone with Harry again. What you would do to be back in that same position on the ground with him.
âSorry about jumping on you earlier by the way. I hope it wasnât weird.â He turns to you, a small, embarrassed smile on his face.
You shook your head and smiled back, âDonât worry, I liked it.â
The minute it comes out of your mouth, you wish you could grab a time turner and go back in time, erasing the fact that you just said that. Your eyes go slightly wide and Harry begins to laugh at your side stopping you by the doorway to the Burrow.
He grabs your wrist with his free hand, pulling you closer to him and smiles. âWhat do you mean by that Y/n?â
âI just⌠didnât mind it. Thatâs all.â
âMhm.â He hums, his eyes flickering down to your lips so quickly you nearly missed it.
âWell I liked it too.â He replies softly, his had gently sliding off your wrist, the warm reminder of his touch still lingering. You exhale softly and look into his green eyes, time seeming to still around you.
You so badly wanted to lean in and just kiss him, but you were petrified of the thought of this conversation just being a random flirty exchange.
You glanced down at his lips, watching as he swiped his tongue across his bottom lip, leaving it slightly open.
âMerlinâs beard Y/n just kiss me.â He mutters, reaching up and caressing your cheek, pulling you towards him gently.
He leans in and presses his lips against yours softly, and you immediately kiss back. It was better than you have ever dreamed. His soft lips slid against yours, as you broke away for mere seconds to catch your breath, before going back in for more.
It was like a shot of fire whiskey.
The first sip was bright and different, but it felt so good on the way down. It was gentle, but meaningful, like the two of you had waited ages to do this.
Which, you honestly have.
You reached your free hand up to slide it into his hair, softly gripping on his brown locks. He made a small sound into your mouth when you gently tugged, pushing his face further towards yours. He slid his hand from your jaw, to the side of your neck and you shivered slightly into his touch.
He smiled against your lips and pulled back slowly, his eyes fluttering open and his hand sliding down to your waist.
âDo you know how long Iâve wanted to do that?â He asks softly, his thumb rubbing against the side of your waist.
âHopefully as long as I have.â
âAnd how long would that be love?â He teases, a smile widening on his face.
You huffed and glanced away for a moment before looking back at him.
âSince fourth year.â You muttered softly.
He hummed in reply and smiled, âSounds about right.â
You smiled and brought your hand to the back of his neck, pulling him towards you to peck his lips softly. As you slowly pulled away, your lips separated little by little, the two of you smiling like idiots at each other.
âOi! Where is this chocolate guy- Oh bloody hell, finally!â

summary: getting ready for a hogsmeade date with your boyfriend, harry.
pairing: harry potter x fem!reader
warnings: romantic content. fluff. suggestive content.
a/n: first post who else cheered! realized we need more harry content so iâm looking to fill the gap
Your favorite thing about Hogwarts was the weekends at Hogsmeade. When it finally hit November, snow began to fall, making every rooftop twinkle with the promise of Christmas.
Every person wore jumpers, coats, and gloves. Some could be seen chucking snowballs at their friends, while first years ran from store to store trying to soak it all in despite having six more years to enjoy.
You were in your fifth year so sure, time was flying by, but you always made sure to savor every moment. Especially with your friends and boyfriend.
You stood in your room, pulling one of Harryâs red jumper he left in your dormitory over a white t-shirt. After slipping on a coat, a pair of gloves, grabbing your purse, and quickly speaking goodbye to your roommates, you darted out of your room to meet Harry outside your common room.
Just as you stepped out of the portrait, you saw Harry. He leaned against a pillar with jeans, a dark green jumper, and a coat on glancing down at his watch. A wide smile spread across your face as you walked closer with your hands behind your back, hoping to sneak up on him. Just as he was lifting a hand to push up his glasses your face came into view.
âHey pretty.â He smiled, his eyes crinkling as he pushed his glasses up with his left hand and reached out towards you with his right. You held onto his arm and stood up on your toes to peck his lips softly, âHi love.â
His eyes glistened with deep affection and you turned away, heat rising on your face. Little did you know he grinned, realizing your attempt to hide your bashfulness. He turned your head back towards his and smiled, âyou ready to go?â
âAbsolutely.â You reply, lacing your fingers in between his. The two of you walked through Hogwarts, chatting about random things like Fred and Georgeâs plans to open a joke shop, Umbridge being the most insufferable woman on earth, and Harryâs desire to teach you how to fly on a broom.
âYou can hold onto me the whole time! You know Iâd never let anything hurt you y/n.â Harry replied passionately, praying that you would say yes.
âFine,â you give in, âbut youâre buying me some chocolate frogs and I get one of your jumpers for a month.â
A smile spreads across his face, revealing the cutest dimple. âOh thatâs a deal sweetheart, you might as well keep the jumper like this one.â He nods towards the jumper youâre currently wearing and you grin in response.
âItâs comfy.â You shrug, looking down at the jumper that has spent the last year in your wardrobe.
âLooks better on you anyway.â He says softly, his hand squeezing yours softly. You laugh and glance up in reply, âthank you.â
The cool wind hits you as you walk down the path to Hogsmeade. Couples run by with bags in their hands and their eyes locked on one another.
A smile rose on your face as you leaned into Harry, smelling his cologne. He smelled fresh, like grapefruit and rosemary, but also lived in. There was an air of sage and smoke, reminiscent of the Gryffindor common room.
When you finally entered Hogsmeade, you felt the weight of school fall of your shoulders. The dark buildings twinkled with snow and the smell of hot tea and butter beer wafted out of the bars.
âWanna grab butter beer first?â Harry turned to you, beginning to steer off towards the Three Broomsticks. âSounds amazing.â You nodded, following along as you trailed behind him.
The dim room welcomed you with the fresh smell of butterscotch and cream. Harry led you to an open table in the back where you squeezed into a booth as Harry left to go order.
Shrugging off your coat, you sat there waiting patiently.
âHere you go darling.â Harry smiled as he set a warm butter beer down in front of you, sliding into the same booth as you. He set a hand on your thigh, squeezing your leg softly, the warmth from his hand spreading across your leg.
âThanks, Harry.â You lifted it to your mouth and took a sip, the warmth liquid immediately bringing warmth to your body.
You groaned softly and licked your lips.
Harry chuckled and glanced over at you, âIs it good?â He teased you, taking a sip himself.
âSo good.â You reply with a smile, finding Harryâs gaze focused on your face. His mouth rises in a smirk, his eyes dazzling as he stares at your mouth.
âWhat?â You smile back, suddenly feeling very vulnerable under his gaze.
âYouâve got a little something. Let me get it.â He starts, lifting a hand to your lips and brushing the left side of your mouth.
He picks up the foam on his finger and brings his finger to his mouth, licking the residue off his finger.
âThere.â He smiles, licking his own lips as he stares at your smiling face.
You shake your head and turn away, hiding your face in your mug.
âWhat? Youâre so cute.â He teases as he leans towards you, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
You glance up at him and softly shove his shoulder shushing him.
âWhat? Iâm not allowed to compliment my beautiful girlfriend?â He smirks, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
âNo you are. Just give me a kiss first.â You smile up at him, leaning forward towards his face.
His smile widens and he whispers, âI can do that.â
He leans down and softly presses his lips against yours. His lips tasted like the smooth caramel of butter beer and a hint of treacle tart. The sweetness of the kiss invaded your senses. It felt the same as the very first time. Warmth stronger than a glass of butter beer fills your insides, pushing you closer into his touch.
You wrapped an arm around his neck, nestling it in his hair as you softly gripped it. He smiled into the kiss, pulling you closer by your waist.
You sighed softly into the kiss and he chuckled against your mouth, squeezing your waist softly.
Your mouths slid against each other, your lips parting for a moment to catch your breath and you slid your free hand up the front of his shirt to touch his skin with your warm hand.
âOi! Weâre in public missy.â Harry warns, dropping a hand to grab yours from under his jumper. You laughed in response, leaning into his chest.
âFine,â you jokingly groaned. âWeâll finish later.â
âOh yeah we will.â
