First of all, yes, I read something like this on Twitter and here on Tumblr. I’m not going to address the fandom that did it because it’s unnecessary.

Some fans believe their fav celebrities are toys or are part of their properties. They think they can control, know and predict everything they feel or do. This is absolutely wrong. You can’t control another person just because you stan or support them. It’s not right. 

And this is the case with those fans that love to assume that Tom only ‘puts up’ with RDJ. Tom has said it multiple times, he admires and respects RDJ a lot. The only reason he was in Dolittle was because of RDJ, he loves working with him and I’m not getting these facts out of my ass, this is something Tom has said on multiple occasions and interviews. 

If anyone needs proof of this: x, x, x.

Would he really call someone while shooting to tell him about his day only to ‘pretend’ to get along with him? Really?

‘Tom and I were doing a commercial for Audi, [..] and we Facetimed Robert in between takes, and we felt so dope right, like filming in this really fancy-ass car, and all Robert said was like, ‘Oh yeah? How’bout I show you dumbass clowns what I’m doing,’ and then he changed his camera on Facetime and he was on this fucking 70 foot super yacht, with a fucking helipad on it.’

His favorite movie quote is by Robert and he loves using this quote all the time.

He even talks about Robert all the time! He was afraid that his relationship with him was over only because he accidentally ghosted him.

Listen, I know some of them want Tom to only get along with certain celebs or friends but he’s a real human being, you can’t control that about him. Or if these people hate or don’t like RDJ, that’s fine but they don’t need to make stuff up about their relationship. 

Tom is not a toy, he’s not your property. You can’t control what he thinks or feels. If you really admire and support him, then respect every aspect of his life as it is. It’s really that simple.
