‘normalize X’ is such a pathetic political aim. saying that being gay or gnc or disabled or whatever other marginalized form of being should be ‘normalized’ just reifies the broader normal/abnormal distinction that enables that marginalization in the first place. crab bucket politics

saying that we should normalize [behaviour or identity that society violently punishes you for] is ceding the ground that the broader punitive structure that enforces ‘normality’ is fine, you just want to be on the other side of that line. lame shit.
