If I see 1 more OBNOXIOUS red or blue button take im making a purple one that just wipes us all out if I press, and then I'll press it. It started as a hypothetical that could create genuine discussion on how people view the world differently. I can genuinely learn about someone by hearing their reasoning for pressing either button. I'm also very aware that some people DID take it this way! However, so many people are defending their take on the matter like its real. Yes the hypothetical should be answered seriously by WHY are we diagnosing people with different interpretations of the world with us as monsters? Ive genuinely watched a video where someone mentions somthing similar to "if you press the blue button, you're a narcissist with a savior complex" and ive seen people comment the same and worse things about those who claim to want to press the red button.

And BOTH of these die hard button fans use the SAME argument sometimes!

We don't get to communicate.

That's one of the arguments for both sides.

"Well 100% of people wont press red because we cant communicate"

"Well 51% of people won't press blue because we cant communicate"

YES IVE REALIZED

Genuinely this is such bullshit. I actually liked this hypothetical and hearing an in depth thought processes on it, but now everyone is trying so hard to be "correct". Its a great hypothetical. That's why its causing so much discourse, but holy hell instead of taking this chance to learn more about those around us we just jump and point fingers at those different from ourselves. So much so that I'm honestly a little disappointed that I thought we could handle a hypothetical like this maturely. We can't even talk about food preferences without someone flipping a lid.
