In class we were talking about how cats teach themselves to hunt around their collar bells, and this dude followed that up with “well you know how Santa has those reindeer covered in those bells, right?”

and what he going for was “the bells on cat collars are the same that reindeer are pictured wearing”

But what *I* heard was “Santa’s Reindeer are predator animals that are covered in bells for our protection” and let me tell you I did not appreciate that.

Had a baby boomer in front of me at the Dairy Queen. She INSISTED she was a Blizzard EXPERT and there was simply NOT ENOUGH chocolate pieces in her blizzard and she wanted to complain to "whoever is in charge". She's going on and on with this teenager. The teenager is calmly explaining they make them all the same etc etc procedure etc etc. But this woman is now yelling at the teen.

So I walk past the woman and put money in teen's tip jar. Haven't even gotten ice cream yet.

Woman looks at me. Turns back and yells some more with the teen. I put more money in the tip jar.

The teen smiles at me. The woman can't think of what to say to me and stops yelling, because I'm looking at her dead in the eye like "atm is over there, I can go all night. The more you yell at her, the more money she makes."

I feel better this morning

I’m still not thrilled to be spending so much money on MORE damn plumbing issues but I am honestly grateful that we can afford it. It just came as a shock last night because it was originally only supposed to be around $300 (which is basically free with plumbing) and then I hear the plumber start a conversation to Sean with “I’ve got some bad news” so. It was bad news but it will be okay! I don’t need to go so hard with gifts for everyone (not even my child, for an only child we really don’t go over the top with her) I just LOVE shopping for others it makes me so happy. And it isn’t like I can’t! I just can’t be as wanton. So all will be well. There have been many Decembers where a surprise $1000 would have destroyed us so I’m very grateful that right now it doesn’t.
