bernard/ives as a concept🤔 i think initially bernard would like ives more than ives would like him (as is often the case w bernard) because he is an incessant gossip boy which by itself would already irritate the hell out of ives who is someone that makes an conscious effort to hide his business from people. bernard finding out about ricky rat would literally send him into a coma. if you put them in a room to talk about any topic ppl are surprised they both make it out alive. its never uneventful. they are technically friends but ives is principally averse to admitting it. like heaven forbid ives appears to actually enjoy bernards company. he cant give that guy any big headed notions that he's tolerable lest he becomes too confident and therefore even more unbearable lmao whos going to stop him then
